Texastom The second set of struts acted as a safety. As the front was lifted, the set in the middle of the truck was adjusted to the new height. If the front struts need to be moved, the second set keeps the truck up. As for the wheels, they were chained. You can see the chain coming down by the car's door.

East West Fire was the consultant on the job. The article states that they reviewed the specs and all bids. The Board of Trustees is placing the blame squarely on them. Here's the article, starts right under the heading of Work Session: Link:

There have been times where I've used the TIC in a bathroom and will get a reverse reading. If the bathroom has tile walls, the only thing you will see is a reflection of yourself, the tile acts like a mirror. And like it was stated in the above replies, search with your hands and tools. Check the tub/shower, open the shower door. Just because the bathroom looks small and nothing is showing on the TIC, go inside and feel around. If it is small, it's not going to take long. Better to know that you checked everything instead of having a doubt in the back of your mind.

Riverside Hose in Tarrytown sells them. I believe weekdays 5-9PM, weekends 10Am-10PM. This is the second year. Proceeds go towards the rebuild of their 1941 Seagrave. HOWEVER, as of this morning they have only 9 left. Franklin St. by the Tarrytown Train Station.

In terms of a traditional firehouse, Sleepy Hollow's Station 2 would be at the top of the list. It is home to Rescue Hose Co. No. 1 - "The First at the Worst" - Engine 85. Still has a brass fire pole, ticker tape alarm system, original 1927 alarm board, tin ceiling in the apparatus floor and the original 4 panel side-opening doors. The second floor has been named "The Temple" and is packed with memorabilia all the way from the company's inception in 1887.
