I also saw some of these when I was at Arkel a few weeks ago. The salesman said that they increased something like one or two miles per gallon by changing the body style which is a lot in the big trucks. Plus they look cool.

So, I pulled into the firehouse today and saw this sitting in the back parking lot. It surprised me a little but because the identifier on it is the same as our rescue truck. Anyway, I don't have mush information on it. It is either a 2008 or 2009 International 7400 KME. Obviously it is a front mount pump, pumper/tanker.

That is exactly what I though when I saw it. We have a few trucks with the same chassis and I know that when using the transmission retarder, they get very hot. The pictures in the link below shows a front mount pump that doesn't block the front of the radiator at all and it is built on the same chassis. I wonder if it is going to cause any problems. Very nice looking rig. Seems like they designed it around what they need the truck to do, not the other way around which is good. Hope it serves them well.

It is a very nice looking truck.

Also, they were responding to a car fire. No matter how long it took the FD to get there, especially when there is that much smoke showing, the car is totaled. No matter if it burns out on its own or the FD puts it out, the insurance company is going to write a check to the owner to buy a new one.

Very nice looking truck. The front mount pump is nicely done. The only thing is the truck is so high that the light bar is hidden. In most of the pictures you can't see it at all. I like the use of the steps as compartments. Thanks for sharing.

We are actually switching over from our local PD dispatching us to out county dispatching us this month, which is an EMD dispatch.

Come out tomorrow for the TGI truss burn. When I did construction work during the summers, we build a house with these panels about three years ago. If I remember correctly, all that is used to hold them together is very strong glue and some spray in foam insulation in a can (both of these I still have stuck on some shirts). As far as I know there are generally two or more chases in the foam so that electric, cable, etc. can be run for both inside the house and outside the house.

Very funny. I like the second one the best.

Nice looking truck. Good luck with it.

I think that the higher tax area of Fairview would be spread over the lower taxed area of whoever would now cover the area. So, it lowers the taxes for Fairview area and raises everyone else in the new district. (If I have it all correct.) I don't see the citizens of the neighboring districts going for this because it would raise there taxes unnecessarily so other people's taxes would be lower.

It is hardly mentioned at the end of the article, but what about mpg's and idling fuel usage. As far as I know, gas engines get less of both of those. This needs to be taken into account. Just because it has a lower price at the pump, a gasoline engine may end up costing more then a diesel would.

After all of the things he has done with animals trying to "help" them, and he is still mayor. Shouldn't he have tried the main door before he climbed in through the balcony. Wouldn't it have been better and easier to walk up the stairs and knock on the door instead of climbing up a ladder and walking into someone's house while they are home

It is a lot, but I think that it looks good with the white cab.
