I beleive this started as TL-71 at Station 3 because the engineers said the floor at Station 1 would never hold the weight!!!!! Then went to Station 14 as TL-70, after a brief stint at Station 14 it reappeared at Station 3 as TL-76 (L-76 was moved from station 11 to station 3 then disbanded around 1983) after that the truck fell into disrepair and eventually was disposed of! The single axle TL was never suited for the hills of Yonkers!

Tanker is a 5000 gallon military surplus water tanker (specifically built to carry water not a gas/oil conversion) - it is a 1995 model - stainless steel - we will be developing SOP for use . This will most likely be prepositioned in area with water problems - due to shutoffs for repair or loss of power at pump stations effecting specific areas. The new tractor on order will have a sufficient GVW to pull the load safely.

don't be concerned about printers - you can buy a dependable printer for under $100 buy 2 - 1 for a backup

While the new & old look similiar - they are both currently at Station 1 - The old one was on the road for a few hours this morning - for the next several weeks the old one will be kept at station 1 to facilitate the transfer of equipment and switch over if adjustments are necessary to the new one during the break in period

I am not aware of the DPW having a water tender - that may belong to the contractor doing sewar & water relining - The YFD tanker is a 7000 gallon stainless steel military surplus trailer. The trailer is currently out having some modifications made - look for it by the end of the summer with a new tractor

The numbers 299, 298 & 297 we will be using for training for the next few months before the rigs are disposed of (as well as L-67 & 68) once they are designated for training they will not see fire duty again!

FYI - The St. Patrick's day parade in Yonkers as far as I know is the only parade in Yonkers that does not allow any type of motorized vehicle - as per the parade committee - they have used a horse drawn carriage for vip's that for one reason or another can not make the walk down boadway - that has been their tradition - perhaps for Memeorial day with the 52' ALF ladder that is being restored!
