Vehicles were traveling westbound in I84 during heavy rain. The cause of the accident is under investigation.   3. I think the collapsable idea is a good one. I like the shout box because it allows people to chat real time while listening to incidents in real time. The abuse is annoying but might very well be worth it.

  7. Out of curiosity, how far from the staging area was the crash site? Also, which EMS agency did the rehab?
  8. I personally watched either Airport 11 or 7 leave the staging area and head back to the airport.
  9. Small Cessna went down shortly after take off from Westchester County Airport. Plane crashed into the wood IAO 113 King Street after encountering problems shortly after takeoff. Crews had are having trouble locating the plane. Gators are being used. small fires are being extinguished. 3 or 4 people reported dead. Incident Alert

Frequency: 60-Control (46.26); Westchester County Airport Tower KPHN (118.575) Units Operating: (See Below) Weather Conditions: Clear Description Of Incident: Plane down into the woods. FAA states that a small six-seat single engine Cessna 210 Centurion plane took off from Westchester County Airport (HPN) and went down shortly after after experiencing engine trouble. The plane reportedly turned around to make an emergency landing and crashed while making the loop. The plane was destined for Montauk, NY. The plane took off at 13:04 and reported to the tower at 13:05 that it needed to make an emergency landing. The pilot stated, "Yes we are declaring an emergency," his last transmission was radioed at 13:06. Authorities responded to the scene around 13:14 and the plane was located at 13:45. Fire and hot spots were extinguished. All 4 passengers aboard the plane died.   13. Date: 6-15-2011 Time: 15:55 Location: 2200 East Fuson Road (Tabernacle of Praise Church) Departments: Muncie FD; Numerous M/A Departments Description: 2nd alarm fire in a church. Firefighter entered the building and shortly after, the roof collapsed. One firefighter bailed out prior to the roof collapsing. Another firefighter was reported missing following the collapse. Firefighter were aware of the missing firefighter location but could not reach him due to heavy fire. Tragically, the firefighter succumbed to the fire. The firefighter was later identified as Scott Davis who was an Ex-Chief of the Yorktown FD.   14. Same thing happens when you have parades. Apparatus are taken out of service but they are covered until they return. If something big comes in, you respond from the parade. With most of the response times departments in Westchester have, responding from parade would probably get them on scene faster than a typical response originating in their districts.

Date: 6-9-2011 Time: 17:23 Location: Brighton Sixth Street (Brighton Beach boardwalk)) Frequency: FDNY Brooklyn Units Operating: FDNY Brooklyn (FD/EMS); NYPD Weather Conditions: Hot, hot, hot, dry Description Of Incident: 911 calls alerted NYPD of a fight on the Brighton Beach Boardwalk. Around the same time, two men on the beach, shot a a group of people on the boardwalk. It is unclear if the fight was the cause of the shooting. 5 people were shot. 1 female was pronounced at Coney Island Hospital. Another victim was also transported to Coney Island Hospital and is listed in critical condition is not expected to live. 3 other victims were transported to Lutheran Medical Center and are in stable condition. Date: 6-8-2011 Time: 22:04 Location: Grasslands Road @ Taylor Road (Near Westchester County Jail) Frequency: 60-Control (46.26); Mount Pleasant EMS (155.88); Greenburgh PD/PD EMS (460.525); Mount Pleasant PD (156.015); Westchester County PD (155.31); Units Operating: GPD EMS; GPD; MPPD (Car 41); WCPD; Transcare Paramedic (37-Medic-1); Valhalla FD (Car ?, Rescue 9) Weather Conditions: Hot, dry Description Of Incident: Motorcycle vs. car. 31 y/o operator of the motorcycle struck the rear of a sedan and was thrown off of the motorcycle. 25 y/o driver of the sedan was uninjured. Greenburgh PD EMS, Valhalla VAC, and 37-Medic-1 were all dispatch due to confusion about where the accident was and whose district it was in. 37-Medic-1 called on scene and advised MPPD that Greenburgh PD EMS was on scene and the accident was in GPD EMS's district. Valhalla VAC was put back into service. Police on scene requested Valhalla FD to the scene to assist in a precautionary search for a possible passenger of the motorcycle. The search came back negative and it was found out that there was no other passenger. Operator of the motorcycle was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he was pronounced. Writer: PFDRes47cue 22:04 - MPPD dispatched MPPD Car 41, 37-Medic-1 and Valhalla VAC to the above location for a "Motorcycle struck, possible CPR in progress." 22:07 - 37-Medic-1 called on scene and advised MPPD that the call is in Greenburgh's jurisdiction and GPD EMS is on scene. 22:08 - Valhalla VAC was told to return to service. 22:09 - 37-Medic-1 advised MPPD that he was going to remain on scene and assist GPD EMS with patient care/transport. 22:23 - Valhalla FD toned out to assist PD on scene with a precautionary search for a passenger of the motorcycle. *P/M with additional...I did not hear all units on scene.*
  18. Any specific reason as to why the person tried to crawl away? It never hurts to be extra thorough when searching for someone. Especially when you have a good hunch (due to damage, blood, etc) that someone involved in the MVA is probably really injured.

Date: 6-4-2011 Time: 04:25 Location: 816 Washington Avenue (Corner of St. Johns Place) Frequency: FDNY Brooklyn Dispatch Units Operating: FDNY Brooklyn (See below for rundown) Weather Conditions: Nice Description Of Incident: Working fire in a 4-story 25x60 brick store and dwelling. 10-75 transmitted by Engine 280 @ 04:24. 4 L/S/O. 2 Tower Ladders in operation. Heavy fire on 3 floors. Companies were removed from the fire building due to the collapse of three floors. Air Re-Con Chief was utilized to monitor the stability of the fire building and exposures from above. Extension to the cockloft of exposures 2 & 2a (both similar attached). Primary and secondary searches of the exposures completed and negative. Searched of the fire building were completed from the outside due to structural collapse and instability of the fire building. 4th alarm transmitted for relief purposes. Further structural collapse of the original fire building occurred after the 4th alarm was transmitted. A special call "FAST" truck was called in for the additional collapse. Staging location was Washington Avenue & Eastern Parkway. Fire called U/C @ 07:20.   22. You are correct. In Pleasantville the Officer will call us responding Code (1, 2, 3, etc). This refers to the number of interior firefighter that are responding on the rig.

Location: Croton-Harmon Rail Yard (North Yard) Frequency: 60-Control (46.26); Fireground 2 Units Operating: Croton FD Car 2082, Engine 119, Rescue 18; 36-Medic; Croton EMS; Yorktown FD Car 2531, Utility 36, Rescue 16; Metro North FD Car 2641. 2643; Medevac Air 2; Croton PD; MTA PD; Weather Conditions: 89 degrees, sunny, dry Description Of Incident: Metro North Railroad (MNRR) employee was working on a train in the yard on the northeast side of the old shop building and was struck by MNRR work locomotive #106 on track 135. The worker was pinned between the plow on the long hood side of the hood and the first wheel, underneath the steps.Airbags were used to remove patient. Yorktown FD was called for additional airbags. Patient was breathing but was declared a Level 1 trauma. PT was air lifted my Air 2 to Westchester Medical Center. Reporters: Firedude; RITRobotoX (O/S) Writer: PFDRes47cue 1748 - Yorktown FD toned out for their rescue to respond with their airbags. 1753 - 60-control advises that Medevac is at Westchester Medical Center. Croton Car 2082 advises to launch Medevac. Engine 119 will be the LZ Engine. 1754 - 60-control advises that the rail has been de-energized as per the train master 1800 - Air 2 advising "One-Zero minute ETA." 1802 - Air 2 advised by 60-control that Engine 119 is their ground contact and will try to land them in the ball field just over the railroad tracks. 1805 - Croton EMS toned out for an additional driver to respond an additional ambulance to Croton-Harmon Yard.
