This is truly sad when a father can't even give his daughter the sweet sixteen party that every teenager deserves. What is this world coming to!! Do people really have that much disrespect for each other that the poor girl couldn't even enjoy her birthday. It's sad that people believe that carrying guns and shooting each other is really the way to resolve a conflict. The world would be alot better off if the people that invented guns or knifes would not have. All it did was give people a reason to Start something and then kill each other off or instead of rationally resoving the problem they seem to result in severly hurting each other with violence. I ask again WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO... I'M SUPPOSED TO BE PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN WHEN AMERICA HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST VIOLENCE AND CRIME RATES THERE ARE... NOT GONNA HAPPEN. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY COUNTRY IN ALL THE 21 YEARS OF MY LIFE. I KNOW I AM STILL YOUNG BUT I GUESS YOU COULD SAY THAT I AM REALIZING EARLY THE TRUTH ABOUT THE WORLD WE LIVE IN. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE VIOLENCE BETWEEN RACES AND RELIGIONS NOT TO MENTION ETHNICITY WAS BELIEVE IT OR NOT ALOT LESS BEFORE WE WENT TO WAR WITH IRAQ. HAD WE NOT GONE TO WAR WITH IRAQ AND JUST PUNISHED THE PEOPLE THAT WE SUPPOSEDLY KNEW CAUSED OUR BLOVED WORLD TRADE CENTERS TO FALL AND STARTED THE KAOS THAT WE HAVE KNOWN FOR THE LAST SEVEN YEARS THEN WE WOULD PROBABLY BE ALOT BETTER OFF BUT WE ARE STILL UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE GORVERNMENT AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES ( WHO FOR SOME REASON...WHICH I HEAR IS BEING BLAMED ON HIM BEING A TEXAN) BECAME PRONE TO VIOLENCE HIMSELF. YES WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY, BUT I ASK WHY PROTECT IT WITH VIOLENCE. NOT TO MENTION WE WOULD NOT HAVE LOST SO MANY OF OUR BELOVED MILITARY MEMBERS. EVERYONE WANTS SOME TYPE OF WORLD PEACE BUT VIOLENCE AND CRIME ARE NOT THE WAYS TO ACHIVE THAT GOAL. THANKS TO ANYONE THAT READ MY RANTING...SORRY IF I BORED YOU!

I was sitting in class with my favorite teacher because they locked down our schools thinking that Detroit which was only 15 minutes away would be hit next. I remember the Principal coming over the speakers saying to stay in our present class for the remander of the day. Granted I was a lil excited being I was with my Favorite teacher, It was very upsetting to keep seeing the footage played over and over again. Little did I know that my best friend was not in school that day because her father was down in that area on business and she was to devistated to come to school. Upon being released from school I ran to her house to see if she was ok, only to find that THANKFULLY her fathers flight was delayed and he ended up being stuck at the airport on the ground. His flight never left. We are very lucky for that. I can honestly say that that day will remain in my head for eternity. I do not however look forward to trying to explain to my daughter what happened and why mommy and daddy get so sad on that day. Family has never meant more to me. That dreadful day really put my life into perspective. I now cherish every moment with my loved ones and can only hope that I make it home before my grand father passes away this next month. He is now the main reason I am in the medical field. I am making it a mission to try and help as many people as I possibly can in his memory. I LOVE YOU G-PA CHARLIE AND I'LL BE HOME SOON!!!!

That is the sadest thing I have ever heard. It really hits home being that I am a new mom. It really makes you think and cherish what you have...My heart goes out to the family.

Hello my name is Tiffany. I am a 21 year old from Webberville, Michigan now residing with the love of my life and our daughter in Peekskill. Mofire390 and I are planning a wedding for December 13, 2008. I am mommy to the most beautiful little girl named Peyton Marie. She was finally blessed us with her presence on May 6th 2008. I love horses and hope to some day start showing them again. I am looking in to going for my EMT this fall and then hopefully back to school for Pediatric Nursing.
