Mark here, 25+ year member of the volunteer emergency services. 20 year member of a paid NYS emergency service dept, currently hold the postion of Sgt. on the "C" Tour. Past Chief and current board of director member in the Wassaic Fire Company located in Eastern Dutchess County. Great site Seth and mods, only wish I knew of it earlier. There is a ton of knowledge and information passed through this site daily. Stay safe to all!

Excellent post Chief

very nice site, great information, I really enjoyed the history section and love the Pierce and Rescue 1 apparatus.
-
great shots as always Bill.
-
good find EJ thanks for the info.

Wow, excellent idea, kudos to the Katonah members for thinking of something different. Surely a special delivery.

You're not being negative, it is the way it is, SAD SAD SAD!!
-
All I will comment about is the fact that Wassaic is the closet M/A company to that area and they were the only one that actually were on the scene with Dover, Amenia went to Dover Station 1 and Pawling went to Dover Station 2.
-
dc911 dispatched the 2nd alarm assignment as per the CAD system which was a predetermined assignment. Questions should be directed to the Dover brass from the Millbrook brass and not for us here to set back and debate or question, plain and simple. Sorry for being frank but this type of questioning in an open forum such as this will only cause friction for the two depts. As stated; let the Chiefs handle it. Also dc911 cannot just add M/A equipment to an assignment, it has to be requested by command. There was a call not long in a one of our surrounding M/A dept areas and one of our officers responded to assist and arrived on scene first and requested our tanker to the scene and the request was denied by dispatch because the request had to come from the "host dept" as we were not dispatched.

me either Joe, sent to me by another member, I was at work too
-
Nothing like freshly squeezed OJ.
-
Exactly, we have only a limited amount of drivers for our new tanker as well; they are mostly drivers that operate larger type vehicles for a living and respect what they are driving.
-
I know is was a J/K but vehicle color puts no fire out. Way to go with something other than RED!!!! , Bottome line the Kent FD are the only ones that need to be happy with the tanker, the reasons why they built it the way it is, is because it fits their needs.

great work WAS

Nice job, and I thought our tanker was big. Nothing like having that amount of water sitting on scene when the attack starts, nice work.

Saw a few interviews this evening with Iman Morales' family and they were very upset about LT. Pigott's death, very sad ending to this story.

Sorry about using FASNY in my post, I agree about the changes that need to be made, All I was doing was pointing out an excellent class that is out there to educate us about these dangers, not worrying about who is lobbying and what they are lobbying about..

I just attended a class last Saturday on lightweight building construction and there were several live burns shown on no gussett trusses and also TJI joist which seem to be more of a danger to us. I have a few videos of test burns at the Dutchess County training center on these as well on our website, click the link in my signature and go to videos at the top of the page. If you can attend I would recommend taking the class, go to the www.fasny.com and click on the training link and it will show up coming training. Remember585 reports: We're hosting this class in November at our Station #3. Fire Concerns for Lightweight Construction Date: Saturday, November 08 2008 Croton on Hudson Fire Department 30 Wayne St. Croton on Hudson, NY

X635 I know you take a ton of pics, any suggestions for a new camera.

Great job to all; keeping us informed.

most likely would like to spend under $500.00, I use a kodak easy share and it is ok for around the firehouse and taking outdoor stuff but really lacks inside. I have a old minolta x-7a with a reg lens, a wide angle lens and some other stufff from yester year. Just getting back into taking photos because of our website. Seth thanks the cameras you said are well within what I would like to spend.

Wow, I'd say a busy week and it's only Wednesday, should be interesting to see if the cuff ID#'s come back from CJS belonging to an active PO.

Nice site, easy to use!!!

Word leaked out last last night that part of the bail out package for Wallstreet was going to the Yanks so they can increase their payroll to 300 million. MLB and the team agreed that part of the revenue sharing will go back to the taxpayers, namely Yankee fans, who must fill out a voucher at the new Yankee stadium. You must be a season ticket holder to be qualified.

I had two great memories there #1. My dad got a ball hit by Harrelson in 1968. #2. Playoffs against the D-backs when Todd Pratt went deep, I thought the place was coming down.
