It is with deep regret that I announce the passing of Lewis Schultz, 79 a 60+ year member of the Millerton Fire Dept. We in Eastern Dutchess County know the Schultz family well; their family has deep roots to the town as well as the Fire Service. His son David, a past Fire Chief and current Dutchess County Car that heads the fire investigation division and son Jimmy, a past Asst. Chief are very active in the department. You could always count on the elder Schultz for a delightful breakfast at the departments monthly pancake breakfast. Here is a link from the Poughkeepsie Journal when Mr. Schultz was honored as one the 20 heroes area firefighters and police officers were recognized by the Exchange Club of Southern Dutchess Tuesday as part of the annual Salute to Dutchess County Heroes, five years ago. http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/projects/gallery/dcheroes/ So to the Schultz family, the Millerton Fire Department and the Town of Northeast we send our condolences; our thoughts and prayers are with you all, the members of the Wassaic Fire Company Inc. Further details regarding the arrangements will be announced

Again Bill great shots, thanks for getting out in the field so we get to see the action, up close and personal.
-
Nice Pierce with the custom Arrow cab.
-
ok, not sure how many from Wassaic are coming, a few are staying back to assist Millerton.
-
Don glad to see you're going, see you there!

The whole story, he has lost in the court of law and has been issued to repay the money or do the work, to which he has done neither.

Here she is, photo credit to John Kenealy from the Verplank website

Simple layout on the exterior but it looks great, I like the green over white, nice design and yeah I bet you will surely see it coming with the light package, thanks for sharing.

Wow Bill your work is excellent to say the least, kinda making me want to start getting back into taking pictures again, I used to use a minolta X-7A several years back but the more I got involved in the fire company the less time I had to take pictures. Almost bought the new Canon Xsi yesterday. Thanks for sharing again and looking forward to more.

excellent page thanks for sharing

I figured it was rope or maybe a broken tree swing, I am sure you are EXTREMELY careful where you go.
-
looking at the photo for other things than the straps, did you see the ladder under the porch on the dwelling to the left, and was that a burned off wire, guide cable or just old rope hanging through the tree down to about where the hose stream is, it looks like there is one attached also. I thought is was a branch at first but it is comes down straight and has a funny "v" on the end. Maybe it was the rope to swing over over the fence Another great shot.
