Zone 4 is made up of Pine Plains, Stanford, Amenia, Millerton and Wassaic, so they banged out all of the tones and got manpower from all.
-
I stayed in the district with an engine as all of Batt. 4 was operating, nice work and thanks Josh for sharing. Anyone one that was listening to the call you obviously heard the Batt. 4 tones go out for manpower, this is something that was just started and was the first time used, It was done pretty early and from what I was told there was plenty of help on scene as a result of this new plan. Kudos to CC-14, CC-1 and the Chief's of Batt. 4 for the forward thinking and putting this into place.

Yes they stopped, that is confirmed, I myself was on scene

and I thought having 13 myself was alot!!!!!!!!!!!

Dan before you buy something send xfirefighter484x a PM, here is what he advised us of the other day, he may be able to save you some $$$$$$$: "Quoted by xfirefighter484x": I am also a member of a Lighting enthusiast forum, and can find almost any type light for cheaper than you will find on any website (new or used, and sometimes the used are in prefect condition).
-
Dan here is my light or course it is red and white but the video will give you a good idea or I can cruise by and give you a peak. Mine is mounted behind the mirror and I can't see it from inside while driving. http://www.sirennet.com/soel3h04a0.html

Mike has there been any change in selling of T-shirts to the public or are they just going to the members as reported earlier?

Follow the link provided by 67-1 and you will see that the academy teaches several different classes, I have been there over 20 times and I have enjoyed every visit.

This was just sent to me speaking of cross training, Monday evening we did extrication using Amenia's tools and car fires using our engine and packs.
-
Dave this is a must out our way, we work together very good as you well know and it is not uncommon to see M/A members driving or operating our rigs or the other way, we cross train alot with the depts in Batt. 14, I would like to see more with the HVNC Assoc. as well. I myself live in Dover, if available I respond to their calls as I have offered my services to 36-1 and they have been accepted; as a former member I have been qualified on thier apparatus so I do on occasion operated thier apparatus.

Dan excellent topic. 1. Preplanning: we should know that we have no water in the area of the incident, i.e. seasonal, no water in area, as 67-1 stated, put the equipment on the road early and know your districts. 2. Get out to the County get your 2nd alarms and 3rd alarms in the CADS so all you have to do is ask for that assignment, instead of pieces units together by request, have it done before. 2. How many times do you hear or see in print we had no water, see you in court Chief, lawyers love this one. 3. Calling the right equipment surely helps, if you call for two M/A engines with 1000 gallon booster tanks because they are next due or 5 minutes closer rather than a tanker that has 3000 gallons on wheels is this ulitmately a better option. 4. As Chief Pells says lets be more pro active as a whole and train and work together more, have Wassaic train with Lagrange, The Valley with Millerton, see what resources are out there such as CAFS and tankers. Our new tanker in the short time it has been in service has been M/A to Amenia, Millerton, Millbrook, Dover Station #1 and #2 areas, Pawling, Sharon, CT. and Kent CT. The calling departments know what it delivers, because it has a large pump it has been used as an engine as well. It was second due in Amenia last fall, as it is on automatic M/A with them on the initial dispatch for all structure type fires. It hooked into their attack engine so we had 4000 gallons for the initial attack which also gave time for the other equipment to arrive, they got the 5" charged and flowing long before we used much water off of it. As an officer especially in charge of water ops, I want to know what I have coming, give me the two 1800 tankers but back that up with a bigger one that has 3000 gallons that may have a longer travel time but will be on scene by the time the two 1800 tankers are empty. Preplan and call early, call often, we'd rather be on the road and returned than called an hour into an incident.

Not much going on with that at this point, maybe the new utility will be here and that may come down.

Funny Captain, I was thinking the same thing, good stuff.

Got a Canon XSI a few weeks back, looking forward to going over to station 3, one of the few houses I have never been to.

Chief is this one the Whelen, this is the setup we would like as well, looks like a trip to East Fishkill is in order to see how the stick operates and of course look over the new 63.

Well from an older member of the crowd here, back in the day there were no medics, defibs or anything other than the old pump and run method. I have helped and done CPR several times with only one positive outcome, yes there were some saves but the victim passed later. The last CPR call I was at was last July 4th with negative results, down to long. The older you get the harder it is physically on you as well, as Izzy said it is like doing jump n jacks, the July call for me it seemed like I was doing them for 30 minutes, of course it was outside and hot and humid. Also as Ex-2114 stated they all have been the same for me too, just remember your training. I did hear the call at the Galleria, excellent job, first one and a save, great work!!!!!

Jay thanks for sharing, I will place the event on our website as well
