  1. Did anyone get any shots of the blue rigs inside?
  2. Dover Stations #1 and #2 were dispatched for a tree with wires and transformer on an occupied vehicle with a fire on Maple Lane. Upon arrival Dover Command reported no fire, a power outage in the area and one occupant in the vehicle. NYSEG responded to the scene as well at NDP, DSCO and the NYSP. Once the wires were secured the victim was removed approximately 1 1/2 hours and was an RMA. I had my kodak point and shoot camera on hand and took a few shots.
  3. What were you thinking about that day?
  4. No pictures up yet?????
  5. RIP Chief Werner, thoughts and prayers are with his families at home and at the Lake Carmel firehouse.
  6. My condolences to the Connell family and the members of the Larchmont FD, RIP Chief!
  7. Joe, I am a volunteer and agree with you 100%, this isn't about vollies or career, it is fact the training is not the same. As you stated the training has improved greatly on the outreach program but there is nothing like attending, completing and getting your certificate for completing the 229 basic firefighter course.
  8. Thanks Chief, we have class A on both of our 2 engines and have started to get back to using it more, it's an excellent tool but like any tool you gotta use it often and keep proficient in its use.
  9. That is for sure Chief, the recent instances I believe on the Saw Mill that were similar to this expect this one did not have the grave outcome, matter of a split second, 1 MPH, that is all it was from a tragic result.
  10. Exactly, I heard the call go out and it is about 1/4 from my house. He was very patient obviously by the time he spent waiting in the vehicle, thank god.
  11. Bill is truly the man and again great shots. I recently advised Bill that he got me wanting to start getting back into photography, made my wallet alittle lighter in doing but I am looking forward to it. As stated the first do shots and the way the incident is documented is awesome and Bill I hope the camera makes it through the procedure. Question for Chief Post I see in a few photos foam, how long has EFFD been using Class A at structurial incidents, this is actually the first time I have seen it, well other than at the large barn fire recently, thanks Chief. Here noted on the crew: and here it is running out through the garage opening:
  12. I see Sgt. Keefe guarding the media.
  13. The pictures are alittle brighter than I would have liked but it was my other camera, they are alittle over exposed. A rep from NYSEG was actually there fairly quickly, because the driver has not injuried, the rep and FD made a excellent choice to make sure that the wires and transformer were 100% secure before the driver was able to be removed.
  14. As you can see the driver should play the lottery, very very lucky to say the least. Deputy Chief Dingee, aka JHK3605 deep in thought, I wonder about what??? JHK Brother Sartori, aka ATV300: Dover 36-71 on standby at the scene: the top of the tree you can make out where it broke off:
  15. We can't wait for it, we originally figured it would be in service by March but their was some delays on the District's part so it looks more like end of August. We went down this week because we have alot of changes after the first visit so we all wanted to be on the same page before any metal was cut. With the foam and porta CAFS unit and the rugged off road package it should serve the back country areas of Wassaic very well plus give Battalion 4 another unique resource for the Batt 4 departments.
  16. We thought about stopping but of course thought better of it on the LIE.
  17. One of your rigs?
  18. The P.U.C has a much different pump configeration then the rig that is pictured here, the P.U.C. pump is actually mounted under the cab, this rig had the traditional type both side pump layout, I don't believe it is a P.U.C.
  19. what rig are you talking about?
  20. Glad to see a piece of Croton history restored, nice work and thanks Doc for sharing, I'd love to see more photos, post away!!
  21. Seth, not sure where the Velocity was going, it may have been Valley Stream The workmanship that Firematic puts into the B.R.A.T is excellent, we can't wait for ours to start being constructed, looks like our chassis won't be in until the end of June first part of July .
  22. I forgot these other shots:
  23. It is made by the Pierce dealer, Firematic Supply/Firematic Manufacturing in house. Pierce's are built in Wisconsin and Florida.
  24. A few on the return trip, we had a nice day but the weather was terrible again.
