  4. There is no combi tool on 62, all of our extrication tools are on 69-51
  5. This incident was not in our response district, we were called under mutual aid for a road closure assignment however the BRAT does respond to MVA's within our fire district as it carries an assortment of hand tools, SCBA, a portable winch,Class A and B Foams as well as fire police items just for road closures as Josh just mentioned.

  8. It really is an excellent resource for new firefighters.

  13. excellent pictures, thanks for sharing, nice to see some on scene shots again!
  14. That is exactly what I expressed during this drill, do the evolution just as it would occur if in fact it was "THE BIG ONE". Also record the time required to fill each tanker, the location it was filled, the dump time of each and how many loads for each tanker were dumped during the drill.
  15. Nate those two classes are basic classes that ALL firefighters should have and I appauled you for traveling to the NYS Fire Academy to take them however to take those classes which total 36 hours, add in the requirements of the on scene investigation hours to become a Level I or Level II investigator and then take the 80 hour Fire Arson Investigation Course which is given at Montour most volunteer members do not have the ability to take time away from work to complete the required hours. I know speaking personally, I have been in the fire service for 28 years, have served as Fire Chief, have helped and determined the causes of fires, have my Fire Investigator Certs however I do not have the ability to travel to Montour and spend 2 weeks for the 80 hour class because of work, etc. Bottom line is the Dutchess County FID Team consists of highly experieced individuals from the fire service, police, and legal services and to cut them from the budget is a travesty.
