  1. thanks Dan for sharing and you are not kidding, I went out and assisted on a FFI class a few years ago, the training center is another excellent resource here in Dutchess
  2. We had a hoop out behind the station and it was on the edge of the blacktop/grass area. Several years ago as a result of plowing snow over the winter an area of grass/dirt was torn away from the blacktop. One spring day one of our members was out playing with his son and came down on the lip of the blacktop, rolled his ankle and completely shattered his ankle. I took him down to Westchester Medical Center a week later and the trauma surgeon said it was the worst injury to an ankle he had seen in 20 years of sport injuries. They did what they could do but he never worked again as a result of the injury and still to this day suffers daily with the injury. Needless to say the hoop is no longer there, sad to say, we played alot of games of ______H-E-A-D over the years.
  3. good stuff Dan, thanks for sharing!
  4. thanks for sharing, AWESOME!!!!!!!
  5. I guess it is a sign of the times, our proposed new engine was voted down last week by the registered voters of the Wassaic Fire District by 6 votes. We will try and get it to vote again as our "attack" engine is out of service permanently (bad booster tank) as voted by the fire commissioners. We are not to confident that it will happen (getting a re-vote). Signman and myself have spent the last 2 years working on this project and we felt we presented a very well thought out rig that would serve our fire district well for many many years but a few others had an agenda and made sure it failed, sad day in our history for sure.
  6. Mark we shall see what the district's plan is at the fire district meeting on August 10th.
  7. Mark will you be adding them so they can be purchased with paypal?
  8. And the vote for the funding for the new engine is slated for July 26th with bids going out the next day if approved.
  9. 69-11 is now forsale, it is currently out of service with a hole in the booster tank.
  10. headed up on Friday
  11. Now this is a better, user friendly hose bed for us and has more of a chance of being used then our tanker. It has 2500' of 5". It's very hard to really compare the two rigs as one main purpose is carrying water and this one is our source pumper which is charged with getting water to the scene and has a booster tank of 500 gallons of water, which allows for a larger and lower hose bed. Another point to make and one that plaques us is the size of older fire stations, we are faced with height and length restrictions which effects how we can build a rig.
  12. Here is one that is way to high to even be used safely in my opinion, granted it is our tanker but it carries 700' of 5" for driveway deployment if needed but as you can see it surely isn't user friendly nor safe! Plus it has the little 1/2 turn fasteners that hold the hose bed cover down, UGH! Love your new engine Capt., ESPECIALLY the hose bed.
  13. Looking forward to the open house and it was nice talking with you last week, can't wait to see the new shop!
  14. Mike we shall see you at the open house, we did get permission to bring the BRAT down, we haven't gotten the official word on it being there for display but you are more then welcome to have it for the day.
  15. thanks Jason for setting this up and getting the word out, I got the night off so I shall see you there.
  16. Had this emailed to me this morning, thanks Past Chief Boyles, Wassaic Fire Company for sharing. I wanted to get it out and share it with as many responders as possible, stay safe!!!!!! ChevyVoltFirstResponderinfo1.pdf
  17. I found this surfing the web last week, our Engine 69-11 http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/193149
  18. SIGNMAN and myself made a trip to Washington CT this morning to check out their new Engine 3, Specs are as follows: 2008 International 7400 Series 2 Door Cab, 4 wheel drive (Washington already had thechassis as they were originally going to remount an exsisting body onto this chassis) Max Force 330 HP Chassis equipped with: 1,250 GPM Hale HFM Front Mount Pump, 750 Gallon Pro-Poly Tank, 2 SCBA Seats, Super Single Wheel and Tire Package, Ziamatic Electric Ladder Rack, 6 Storage Compartments, 6" Intake, 5" LDH Discharge, 5,000 Watt Gas Generator, 2,500' of 5" Supply Hose, Two 1-3/4" Crosslays LED warning lights. a 100 pound speedy dry hopper which has a fill door under the ladders. It is 26' 10" in length and 9' 7" high. Here are the production pictures and some provided by Firematic Supply http://www.emtbravo....elivered-11711/
  19. It has a 102" wide body instead of the usually standard 96" to get deeper compartments, thus the reason for the rear wheel being inside the wheel well alittle further. It had the super single rear wheels from the beginning of the process.
  20. We are currently in the process of building a new front mount CAFS pumper, here is a drawing of what we hope to take delivery of. * when the file loads, go to the top, click on View, then to Rotate View, scroll down to and click on counter clockwise to see drawing correctly Wassaic Drawing.pdf
  21. This is Firematic's third front mounted unit they have built in the last few years. Sag Harbour NY and Candor NY Here is a link to Sag Harbour's rig I shot last year http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php/topic/31468-sag-harbor-ny-firematic-supply-4x4-international/page__p__179518__hl__%2Bsag+%2Bharbour__fromsearch__1#entry179518
  22. One of the really nice features was the pump being heated, we actually put our hands on it yesterday to warm them up as it was freakin cold up there yesterday. The tank to pump and tank fill lines were also heated
  23. It is more of a trash line, not sure if they will preconnect it, they are awaiting the reducer adapter and caps for all three front 2 1/2" so they can be used as 1 1/2" as well, here is a better picture of the line.
  24. Thanks Seth, the unit will be first due only to the harder to reach areas of their district, primary roll will be the water source pumper as it carries 2500' of 5" hose. When we were there they were measuring the one empty compartment for a hose reel to be used as a dead reel for forestry hose, it will be mounted on the slide out tray.
  25. last ones.....
