Taken on Wednesday at the shop

Brian what happened to the current civil service list, has it been exhausted already?
-
Measured today, from the ground to the cap of the 5" discharge is 23" and to the valve 24".
-
With the added 4" of the cab height we went to the inner light bar and some intersection lights as mentioned prior, so our overall height really didn't change. Made a visit to the shop today and have some more photos to share but we got back just prior to having to get ready for work so I will share the new photos in a few days. The front mount design should work well for us, it's our first but we are looking forward it and you are so right on the compartment space, this new engine is replacing two engines so we needed to have more compartments, thus the front mount and custom area designed for the ladders.

We were taking the fire extinguisher maintenance course but last I heard there were only 6 signed up.

Myself and two other officers were supposed to go but they class we were taking was cancelled due to lack of enrollment.

I can check to see if we can get our Seagrave there as well, great idea, There was a cover from firehouse magazine of the Dam with the Gail Borden hose cart there, Mr. Borden's first successful condensed milk factory was in Wassaic which is now the Pawling Corporation. http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/article/20121230/LIFE10/312300060/Picture-Past-12-30 http://www.barrypopik.com/index.php/new_york_city/entry/condensed_milk_bordens_eagle_brand/

Shared from the shop today, a personal visit will take place next week. GPS and backup camera monitor installed on the dash, the intersection lights mounted under the mirrors, the 3000 watt inverter which has 4 GFCI outlets which will also have an external duplex receptacle and will also power the on board refrigerator and the 12" flip down monitor that swivels 360 degrees and will be used to monitor the TIC.

Here is the soundoff signal intersection light designed to be mirror mounted.

Thanks Brian, I had numerous conversations today with the shop, it's moving along quickly, the hopes are to have it be completed for the New England Fire Expo the third week of June.

This is the fourth front mount unit they have built and all have the same area for the large diameter discharge and to date there hasn't been a problem, the front mount design is subject to more damage than a mid-ship or top mount solely based on it's location at the front of the vehicle, it does look lower than it will be, I had placed the adaptor on it to actually check to see how far it was going to stick out passed the side of the bumper, it can be turned upward to gain some more clearance but thanks for the valid question, it's something to pass on to the shop when we visit again. I will also get a better picture from the ground as well to show the clearance at the next visit.

Just the inner light bar, the 2013 cab is now 4" higher which created a height problem for us with the light bar on top of the cab, the picture of the inner light isn't really very good, we have added lights on the sides as well as the mirrors to help cover the intersections. See the links of the lights being used. inner light bar : http://www.sirennet.com/soepl8000-2pc.html mirror lights: , watch video to see the mirror lights in operation. side lights : http://sirennet.com/soeghst6.html

a few sent from the shop today, the inner light bar installed, no it's not that 6' light the tech was using that you can see inside the cab, the PIAA off road lights are installed in the old headlight housing for extra lighting during night time ops as well as aiding in the poorly lit dirt roads that we encounter frequently and a few of the body showing the speedlay, foam storage areas at the front of the body and the cutouts for the spare bottles and other items to be stored there, as well as the hose bed and custom area that will hold the ladders, tools and suction.
-
a few added shots sent from the shop showing the front cutout of the booster tank where the CAFS manifold and speedlay plumbing will be as well as some shots of the body sheets coming together.
-
others, 2" and 2 1/2" electronic valves awaiting install, the road to pump transfer level, radio bank in rear cab area, front of poly tank where the CAFS appliance and air controls will be, the air valve appliance and the USSC Valor custom seating label, body should go to paint at the end of next week and a visit to follow, it's coming together rather nicely.
