I think Huckabee's clemency was for the first offense. It was a reduction of a 95 year sentence because he was "only" 17 at the time of the crime. They are now saying the suspect was definatley wounded, and possibly killed: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091130/ap_on_re_us/us_officers_shot

This is old news, isn't it? Also, the last time I checked, the plain-text requirement only applies to situations involving mutual aid or where a unified command is established.

Thanks. I actually took Ulster too, since the requirement is contigious counties.

I took the exam at Orange County Community College, since I cross-filed with the SUNY exam. There had to to be over 100 at that test site. As to your other point, I also don't understand the residency requirements to take the test. I can understand having residency requirements at time of appointment, but not to take the test.

Unfortunatley I agree that this probably won't be addressed. Unless the fatal accident numbers start to climb again.

I agree with the Deputy Chief. The decision to fight an fire from the interior can only be made by an experienced officer ON SCENE. To write a blanket policy like this really doesn't make sense. On a very related note, how do you know a builiding is unoccupied? Because dispatch said so? We all know that sometimes isn't accurate.

Philadelphia parking enforcement has them, but they do not scan the LE databases, only the parking scofflaw ones. Toronto parking enforcement ( part of the PD) has them as well, and they do scan the stolen vehicle listings as well. I imagine there are others, but those are the two I know of.

That's an unusual way for these situations to end. Is the part about him having the mentality of a six year old true? Personally I find it hard to believe since he gave the police a false name and DOB.

The other private company is Atlantic Air 1. I have also heard of SouthStar (NJSP Southern Region) and PennStar (Pennsylvania) coming up in Orange County

According to the Hackensack Medical Center webpage, it says they are a "Regional Trauma Center". Does that mean the same thing as Level II, or is it a separate designation? http://www.humed.com/trauma/what.shtml I also found this interesting: According to the NJDOH website it says: Level II trauma centers are also expected to provide definitive trauma care, regardless of the severity of injury http://www.state.nj.us/health/ems/trama_centers.shtml Is this the same as in NY?

JetPhoto: I did not get your PM until now. I don't know who added that information in, I will go back in and credit you though. As far as the question about why all four traumas went to the same hospital, I was talking about that very issue with some people I know today, and we couldn't really come up with a good reason for why that is. It's not like WMC is the only level one trauma center around; both Hackensack and Morristown are in the area and may even be slightly closer depending on the location of the incident.

Can Ham Radio operators have red lights in their cars? The reason why I ask is that I was speaking with a Ham Radio operator, who is on the county ARES team, and on his car's registration it said "SPECIAL RESPONSE". He said that means he could run red lights and a siren. Is this true? If so, what section of the VTL authorizes this because I thought "emergency vehicle" applied only to police vehicles, fire apparatus, ambulances, fly-cars, and emergency blood transport vehicles.

I kind of had a feeling from the way this guy acts that he was a whacker. I guess this confirms it.
