How is this any different from the Premise Info. function that already exists on most or all CADs?
-
What is this about. As far as I'm concerned, if you attack anyone with a FD/EMS ID card, you should go straight to jail. I wonder why he didn't want the fire photographed? Maybe the C/O team needs to take a close look at this one

What are the Tactical Training Support ant Technical Rescue School vehicles? Also, do they respond to scenes, hence the red lights?
-
I actually thought that it happened, and was then changed, or in the process of being, changed back.
-
Could they be assuming that a trailer wouldn't be considered a vehicle?
-
Yep. If they are on here, they are more than welcome to post a rebuttal with information about what there actual on scene functions are, what level there members are trained to, what section of NYC or NYS law gives them authority to operate as an orginization, and where they get there authority for red lights and sirens.

If it is a Hasidic organization, as it appears to be, it is probably because of their political connections
-
Is there any picture on the Segway page that is not photoshopped? I also noticed that their "first response" vehicles appear to be missing the DOH inspection stickers for fly-cars.
-
One of the things that I don't get is why? Even NYC, which is predominantley career emergency services, still has plenty of volunteer oppurtunities: Legitimate Volunteer EMS/ FDNYPD Auxiliary PoliceLegitimate OEM Community Emergency Response TeamsAmerican Red Cross volunteersand the list could go on. If I had to guess it is because, any of those orginizations listed above have training and attendance requirements, as well as rules and SOG's that need to be followed on scene. The people above want to be emergency responders, but on their own terms.

A trailer with a lightbar ... Laugh or cry? And GAOE (Geographical Area of Employment) seems to mean nothing either On their face book page they have a picture of a 4th alarm in Queens, a 7th alarm in Manhattan, a missing person's search in Nassau and a missing person's search in Ulster

So what is the interpretation, from what I see a reading of less than 1 microsievert per hour is less than 100 microrem. IIRC micro is 10 times smaller than milli. So if the safe limit is 2 millirem/per hour, the current reading in Toyko is well below the safe limit.

How about this incident: (Church van overturned in Cornwall) http://articles.cnn....e-care?_s=PM:US I know it wasn't as bad as the bus incident, but it was still a major MCI. I also remember a situation even further upstate where a double decker bus hit a bridge, causing a similar situation and killing four, that was also dealt with by the local departments Yes, the situation may have been uniquely and beneficially dealt with because it happened in NYC, but, to say that NYC is the only place that can deal with a situation like that.
-
But, according to just this article, it bans the use of all mobile devices (ie. cell phones) within 500 feet of an accident. So if someone is walking down the sidewalk and gets within 500 feet of an accident... I also don't think this will stand up constitutionally. If the Supreme Court ruled that free speech allows protesting at military funerals and subjecting military families to that kind of pain, it would be hard for them to say photographing an accident scene causes more pain.

Two 911 calls a day? More than just the 911 center needs to be shut down. How about the entire "town" or at least the entire PD

Same with the FD in my district., Warwick They have training and equipment for ice and cold water rescue, but not swiftwater. I believe Port Jervis FD and/or Sparrowbush FD have swift water teams with the Delaware River right there

I wonder if it is lost on the Westboro "Church", that the people whose funerals they are protesting are the reason why this country has a Supreme Court to decide these issues. Like the poem goes "It is the soldier, who died for the flag, who gives the protestors the right to burn the flag."

I think the same questions can be asked about slicktop vehicles. Quoting Bull McCaffrey are we trying to sneak up on fires? Slicktop vehicles were designed for law enforcement to be less visible to traffic violators. With how low profile LED bars are today, I can't even see how much a slicktop vehicle adds to fuel economy.

I heard that SP declined to fly due to weather. I was not aware they were even providing illumination.
-
What about State Police Lifeguard helicopters, are they set up for rescue as well? I heard they were, but I'm not sure
-
I agree that the best trained, and most appropriate resources should be used for any job, in this case, it is using a SWAT/ESU team to serve high risk warrants. I do want to ask, though, and I know the situation may be different, because search warrants can be somewhat planned in advance, about a situation that I know of involving a hostage situation/barricaded person. This situation occured about 10 years ago, when I was in either late elementary or early middle school. The local police got a call that an 3 armed men broke into the home of a woman, and had her tied up as they were burglarizing the residence. The local police responded and set up a perimeter and contacted the State Police MRT Team, who at the time, was the only tactical team in the county. State Police informed them that they had a 4 hour ETA. Eventually, I believe that a few of the officers who had tactical training, but weren't an actual team, made entry and found that the suspects had escaped out a back window prior to the perimeter being established. I was just wondering what would, and should have happened in that circumstance?

RIP Officer Falcone. You will not be forgotten.
