The FDR unit previously at E44 is now at E22; the unit previously at E16 is no longer in service. I haven't heard it respond in a while, I believe it's generally only really used for the low-clearance areas on the Drive between 51st and 96 st now. In the past two units were in service because of the reconstruction work resulting in tighter lanes and tougher weight restrictions. It's crossed-staffed by the Engine company.

Tillers in the city are in areas that only really need them nowadays, either because of the response area or the firehouse requirements. Just off the top of my head, Manhattan: L5, L6, L20 (all in lower Manhattan with very tight intersections and heavy traffic - sometimes it seems like an engine can barely get through) L34, L40 (upper Manhattan with basically similar areas) Bronx: L39 (a few tight streets in Woodlawn) Brooklyn: L101, L104, L106, L118 (in the northeast "old" sections of Brooklyn), L147, L175 (again tight streets in their response areas) Queens: L143 (needs a tiller just to get in/out of quarters). All of the recent Rescue company trucks have had odds and ends stored on the roof such as ground ladders and the Zodiac boats. These are generally the least used tools (i.e. Rescue 1, last time I checked, had a pair of step ladders and the boat) and the main access would be through the roof hatches or otherwise climbing the apparatus. And it would probably be a rare thing where a Rescue put their ground ladders to work since even Engine companies have easily deployable ones.

FDNY companies from the 15th Battalion were dispatched and arrived first and transmitted the initial 10-75. Mt. Vernon FD units were dispatched shortly after. I believe highest incident command on scene was FDNY Assistant Chief of Operations Manahan, with the scene being turned over the MVFD after the Under Control.
