The FDR unit previously at E44 is now at E22; the unit previously at E16 is no longer in service. I haven't heard it respond in a while, I believe it's generally only really used for the low-clearance areas on the Drive between 51st and 96 st now. In the past two units were in service because of the reconstruction work resulting in tighter lanes and tougher weight restrictions. It's crossed-staffed by the Engine company.

Tillers in the city are in areas that only really need them nowadays, either because of the response area or the firehouse requirements. Just off the top of my head, Manhattan: L5, L6, L20 (all in lower Manhattan with very tight intersections and heavy traffic - sometimes it seems like an engine can barely get through) L34, L40 (upper Manhattan with basically similar areas) Bronx: L39 (a few tight streets in Woodlawn) Brooklyn: L101, L104, L106, L118 (in the northeast "old" sections of Brooklyn), L147, L175 (again tight streets in their response areas) Queens: L143 (needs a tiller just to get in/out of quarters). L173 until recent years had a tiller but the apparatus floor couldn't take the weight of a tiller anymore.
