Well 1st and foremost - it is def equivalent to having a taped mask in the sense that you sometimes cant see the hand in front of your face. 2nd You can feel the heat and as you get experienced it helps you to determine how the fire is acting... there is soo much more though...

Well IDN, I dont want to see this post become another closed thread... But in all fairness we in the field shouldnt be worriying about the $$$$ amount. That is Administrations concern. I understand it may be "your taxes at work" I am not denying that... but in the grand scheme of things the amount that it costs "you" personally may be like 5 bucks more or less... depending on the size of the district. I just dont want to see another pissing match start.... and the thread get closed.... Whatever it is, is what the town board (your elected officials), decide to be the best service for the town and its residents. Which Includes "YOU" so if you feel that you or loved ones Lives are not worth that... Idn what else to say... - P.s. this is not intended for anyone in particular just throwing it out there.....

They are not ALS... but it does say "gradually going to add paid staff as they obtain the ability to provide advanced life support." Which makes it sound like they are looking into/trying to become an ALS provider.... I know New Windsor just came online as ALS on 1/1/09.......

or another "before the youngins time" Mother Jugs and Speed... Hilarious movie at that.... Mother: [At the golf course] Put him down idiot! Dermatologist: It's okay. I'm a doctor. Mother: Christ! Today's Wednesday, you must all be doctors! Dermatologist: I happen to be the finest dermatologist in this city! Mother: Well, if acne breaks out, we'll let you know. Harry Fishbine: This is STILL the United States of America, god damn it! Los Angeles, California! Land of the free, home of the... Mother: Rams and the Dodgers! and as for Super Troopers It stinks like sex in here. Thorny: Are you okay? College Boy 2: Yeah, sure. Thorny: Yes sir? College Boy 2: Yes sir. Thorny: No, did you say "yes sir."? Rabbit: I think he said "yeah, sure." College Boy 1: What'd you say man? College Boy 2: When I said, "yeah, sure", but what... literally what I said was "yeah, sure, sir." Thorny: So you are okay then? College Boy 2: Yes sir. oh yea and about White Castle (when are they gunna put one in the city of Newburgh or Poughkeepsie....) Officer Martone: [notices the jail door keys in the jail door, and Jackson sitting inside the cell reading a book] Hey, Jackson's trying to escape! Tarik: What are you talking about? I'm just sitting here. Officer Reilly: He's trying to break free! Get him! Tarik: Aw, s***. [gets up and spread eagles on the cell wall, while still holding the book in one hand] Officer Martone: Don't move. Stop resisting! We need back up now! He's got a gun! Tarik: That's not a gun, that's a book. Officer Reilly: Secure the book! Officer Palumbo: Book is secure. You bring this filth [book is on human rights] Officer Palumbo: in here? What is this s***? -
First of all as Past Lt of East Fishkill, that is how our agreement is set. E.F. does not pay for an ALS service (they never have since Sloper.) East Fishkill gets exceptional service for what they pay for.

For those that saw my previous post, I don't mean to bash at all.... I used to work for Empire, and I met a bunch of phenomenal Medics and EMT's... I hope that maybe Mike W. does get a fair chance to run the company. Maybe he can turn it around. HVPS did aquire Regional (which we all know) I have heard here say that HVPS might look into buying Alamo outright. But in all fairness its always just a rumor untill the "bus shows up lettered." I think that not only the coming weeks but the next few months will be interesting to see who is awarded the area contracts. As for Alamo Employees who are still there, Congrats cuz I know the merge wasnt gunna be pretty for those who have seniority have been at Alamo for a while... as feild staff we should be sticking together, all be here to work together we do the same job. We all understand that everyone has Pride in the company they work for.
