what litigation could arise from not upholding the standards set forth by the depts by-laws. If Joe Volly doesn't show up for the required amount of training "haz-mat, Right-to- know etc etc." Then Joe Volly must suffer the consequences of not upholding "his commitment to volunteer." Again like the article said you only volunteer to join, then you must do what is expected.

This one I saw on YouTube. This is one that one the guys from EFFD Sta 1 put together.

As stated above MLSS does use EMT-I's. 90% of the time if not more they are with a Medic, as all of our ambulances are ALS with with the exception of a few that are contracted. On occasion with bangins or w.e. an EMT-I may be put with an EMT, and a medic goes into a flycar if available. I dont disagree with ALS at all, but again seeing that our I's are used as assistance to the medic, and generally not normally made into a BLS bus.

Sounds like one more thing DCC Fire Science Program needs to test and video....

The boxes can be made any size... from the "mini-medic box" which i believe is one of the smallest Boxs on the MODS, to boxes that are much larger. It depends on what the Conversion Manufacturer has to offer. The back of the (Type 2's are a lil more cramped esp with the Safety net... I cant wait for the Chevy Type 1 to be out... Idn why but I've always liked the Type 1's... I think that since Ford is only going to offer a gas motor that may send alot of purchases to the Chevy side... I def think diesels are much better when run long hrs and long distances than gas can be....
-
I personally like the Chevy platform better acceleration (they actually move outta their way) and have better handling IMHO. As far I know with general PM we have had less issues (now I know that every many manufacturer's have their issues and this could GM's good years but still) I think they are def more comfortable, the back takes a lil gettin used to(Type 2)... As our ambulances need to be replaced we are replacing them with Chevy's including the MODS.

Just impartial to a Chevy I guess....

OOOUCH at least the were Fords.... lol

Well in East Fishkill the only piece of fire equip that responds is a utility... 39-62, 39-63, or 39-64, Our ambulance 39-71 or 39-72 and if it is ALS then whatever ambulance MLSS has that is the closest. On a few occasions the Rescues will respond. 39-51, or 39-52. Our ambulance will cxl the other incoming equip, and very rare that MLSS will cxl any incoming equip. Depends on the sit. bout to clear, an RMA or unattended.

Well first and foremost look at the posters ages who are trying to argue about being tricked... They have little experience, I am not saying I have been through it all but, I have had my fair share. I personally think the ALPR are a great tool. I also now that it is upon the officer to go and make a move on the "vehicle." At one point last year I think I had a 3 day point of being unregistered. As a NYSP drove through the gas station my car caught an alarm. He simply warned me at that point and I had it fixed on that following Monday. I asked if it would be a problem that he didnt do anything bout it and he said no it was unsafe to turna around and catch the vehicle. now again that is my experiance with NYSP that I knew vey well, considering I used to service all the NYSP Trooper Vehicles, and some PV as well. As far as logging where the location and time of where the plate was read, anyone think that feature was designed so as when your car is stolen at 3 am and you don't wake up till 10a, the plate reader can match a last known location. I think that would be some valuable info esp if that is where it is later found, because the plate reader saw it on Elm street at 5a, and no flags/alarms were generated at that time because it wasn't reported stolen. It is not to "track everones move" but be able to recognize any vehicles that may later be known to have been involved in a crime....

Do the orange and silver reflective stand for anything? It looks like the silver may be officers.

If that was about the chiefs car and where to park... and that there 5 and needed to be more specific... yea that was quite comical...

Well IMHO I think the other half of the red v blue is that there is so much other red lighting on the road from stop lights to taillights. Blue does not blend but actually stands out over the red of the taillights and and stop lights. And I can agree on the blend of lights as being effective, When I had my POV all "decked/buffed" out I had blue LED's, a dual talon dash light and 4 TIR 3's in the grille and blue Strobes in the headlight housing (the rear had 2 red 2 yellow strobes.) (it was 6 strobe 90 watt pack.) The flash pattern I chose as INMO was the most effective was the 3-3-1-1-1-1. I did find that more people moved out of the way. Has anyone heard about the "subwoofer" sirens they are using now? Does/has anyone seen, heard, or used this. Yea I know it prob has its own thread but being that we are here talking bout front warning, figured I'd ask. P.S. Who thinks that P.D., Amb and Fire should be allowed to run forward facing blue and red combo, therefor allowing the visibility to the front to be much greater. Since it has been proven that blue is more in certain conditions. Meanwhile red can be in others. From my experience the 2nd gen (darker/brighter) blue is harder to drown out in Sunlight. oh and I was really bored sitting in Highland, hence the coloring of words.... but let your eyes become unfocused and see what color stands out...
