I am unsure of their performance, but someone told me that the defender visor for Cairns helmets will not slide over glasses. Not sure how reliable that is because I don't have direct knowledge - but others like them, say they provide better than bourkes at least...
-
That's why I wrote it that way ...

I don't see what you are talking about...

Well, for some further information. I pulled the first line ever off of this today at our structure fire and the foam I must say flowed as beautifully as it should... great truck engine ()guys it did a hell of a job tonight!

A very nice rig, I had the pleasure of looking at it a few weeks ago, thanks for posting the pics Mark... The new technology rolling out in these rigs in regards to seat belt use and whatnot is quite interesting.. the audible alarm for not wearing your seat belt will annoy enough people into using them to be a good thing. The cameras on it that can be viewed via the driver and officer's seats computer screens are quite nice as well for all kinds of reasons. A nicely built engine...

I recommend calling Whelen, I had to call them once for a missing part from an order I placed and the part was shipped and at my door the next day - they back up their products.

That is the only unfortunate thing, dragging potentially unneeded gear, but only a small hassle in an otherwise great weekend!

We are looking to send a few, myself included.

Simple yet effective, a nice rig.

Our district already has one elevator, and is soon to be gaining another one via new construction right in the village. This one is going to be used a lot more than the current one, but regardless I would like to brush up and learn more on the ins and outs of getting a person or persons removed from an elevator that will not operate, and any other incidents that may occur involving one. My experience is limited so I know this is the place to come to to help me, thanks to everyone who responds and takes the time to put together their knowledge. How do you train or how would you train? Any evolutions or is it simply a verbal discourse on the subject with perhaps a Power Point slide to back it up?

Great info from everyone again, thank you! Gonna take all this and actually do something with it now.

Congratulations!

Thanks everyone for the input, and don't stop please! Several people have mentioned Dragon Rescue, including a few PM's, so I have a few different routes to go, thanks again everyone I do appreciate it. Most likely I am going to take what people have written and provided here and try and use as much as possible to help me get better aquainted, and the others in my company, thanks again!

I've only viewed the one PP but it looks great, thanks!

The latter, an occupied elevator that is not operational, those on a floor, in between, forcing or opening the doors, alternative exits other than the door, etc. Thank you for helping me clarify!

I chuckled a bit at the irony, yes, but did not post!

It's pretty similar to what has been posted, removal of burning material from the "firebox," followed by chains and/or bombs. Tarps are placed for initial removal and any bouncing embers. Checking for extension is usually occurring during this process while the top of the chimney and the bottom are operating. Folks on the roof are packed up as well as anyone else entering the structure, dry line is stretched to the door. How it is treated? A special kind of structure fire designation is the best way I can put it. I am curious to see more about the use of PPA/V in extinguishment however.

Not on the rig, but overall, yes, no bs.

Q#1: Slightly more, but more often than not, no. Q#2: The last several M/A calls I have participated on, the number of qualified people (1-2 Drivers,4+ qualified members each time, and at least 1 Officer) would have been more help then what others have described. Q#3: See #2. Q#4: Not 100% sure, I know if we request M/A to fill our barn, the IC or officer delegated the responsibility knows.

Our rig roles with a qualified driver at least, with qualified personnel in tow, but more often than not with an interior qualified FF in the shotgun seat, and since we do not have cabs that fit more than two there is usually a trail of pov's with qualified members meeting up at the other departments barn. Typically the requested departments OIC will decide staffing unless something specific is requested from the home department.

The MFC website recently went through an overhaul, and is current under renovations, but a bulk of the new web page is put together minus some information and some formatting issues... www.millertonfire.com Enjoy!

Thank you, if anyone has any suggestions I am always open to them. Thanks for visiting the site!
