  1. As well as a lot of other problems in the world. He should have known better before but I guess he didn't. I wonder what network it was anyways - FFN perhaps?
  2. I went to watch it at 11, it's on at 12 here. So now I am tuned in.
  3. RIP Ciano, your dedication and service will not be forgotten. My condolences to all involved.
  4. Agreed, some great rescue shots.
  5. When do you expect to start taking money for the orders? I'd like a few but need some advance on the date. Thanks!
  6. Hey looks like y'all had a good time, good stuff!
  7. I helped organize one a few years ago with the SO when I was a senior in high school - I don't think they have done one since but I like to think it was effective.
  8. We have to booster reels on our front line engine, can't say I have used it much. On the brush truck though - a number of times.
  9. Just heard over the scanner that they have canceled (With a hopeful rain-date to follow) tomorrow's OSHA class due to the weather coming in.
  10. Our 51-12 fresh from being refurbished this last year.
  11. Has anyone else found out what class they have? We found out ours as Chiefs council tonight.
  12. I'd love to, I had planned to do my OSHA Sunday out to PVFD but if I can find an alternate date I will meander on down.
  13. I use a nalgene bottle with a cloth liner for mine (Had to do something with the ones that still have BPH or whatever that hormone was in them). I am fairly confident that it will hold up to crushing, although it's bigger then what I would like - it works.
  14. I have the spectacle kit for my mask, they work great. The only problem is switching, but it's just something I have gotten used to, I don't wear contacts so that isn't an option.
  15. It's nice to see Chris on the fire ground, too bad we don't do MA for Millbrook.
  16. Nice photos and good stop MFD!
  17. Agreed, this is what I try to do and I find that control of my breathing does helps control my mind, not like I'm freaking out, but I would hope that you get what I am saying.
  18. I was at a local fire house up here in Albany, and one of the members there had one of their designs on. I have been wanting to order some for myself but haven't had the money. It was a nice shirt, good quality from my viewpoint.
  19. SUNY Albany employs a similar technology, they also added what I think are LED's into the roadway itself outlining the crosswalks. Day or night if someone steps into the sensors path, the lights in the roadway and the ones outlining the signs light right up. Very bright even during the daytime.
  20. RIP Ron, you and everyone who knows and loves you are in my thoughts.
  21. We don't have a slot for you Nate but I can say that I am looking forward to this years weekend very much. I think this will be my fifth year going and I am still as excited as the first time.
  22. Dave Walsh I believe gave a very informative course a few years ago at the Wassaic fire house on PPV. When done right it can be a real tool, but I have seen it become a real nightmare, like in that video posted on VES (An amazing website by the way). I think in that video they really primarily messed up on the cone of air around the door and they just fed fresh air straight to the fire.
  23. I do not know how it is for others, but we have a physical program that mandates regular physicals every 1-3 years depending on your age. Did I read that right, that the bill only gives the option for Districts to mandate this, it doesn't make it mandatory across the board anyways - so it's really not doing that much for health and safety in a department that doesn't want to enforce it, am I wrong?
  24. Veteran Firefighters with many incidents under their belt. All ex-officers, almost all have taken the Fire Safety Officer course I believe. They have a lot of classes and expertise within their basin of knowledge. They are a help, and they are not considered line officers.
  25. A delicious mystery it sounds.
