Gotta love those politicians ](*,) ](*,)

As far as I know there was a seperate (well at least I was told they had their own cars) PD. FD was one department I belive. As far as merger of the FD's: no comment.
-
Seeing as how if there is a "big" incident in the Pelhams both PD's usually respond anyway (and sometimes New Rochelle), Why Not? Save some money and give it to the FD (lol).
-
Not to mention this plan would "create eight new emergency medical service units that would operate 12 hours a day " what about the rest of the day? Since when do emergencies happen only part time?
-
Well i should know this but how did you tell?? It looks like the shadows are right.

STAT, If you here someone say "expedite EMS" or "step it up" or whatever they are letting you know that the personnel on scene are busy and they don't think the situation is under control. In other words it should give the EMS crew a heads up that it dosen't look good. We know you are coming as quick as you can, but you should know if you only have 2 guys on scene you might be too busy to get on the radio and give a full rundown.

So why wouldn't the janitors be covered?? You said it yourself they are like all others they just work close (ok in) to the station.

Manpower is a big problem all over, that's for sure. If you can't ( or barely can) cover call on a normal day you have no business at a parade. Why? See above quote.

It's too bad that Tillers aren't really around that much anymore. Ya gotta love 'em!
-
Well said. =D> Too bad pride is rare nowadays. Also, sad that people belive everything they see on TV.

Couldn't agree more. A bar is no place to be in full unifrorm [-X . Even if you are off with no intention of responding to a run, Mrs Smith across the street won't know that. Gotta use that thing on your shoulders, before going out grab a t-shirt man! ](*,)

So I guess when they hit the racks for the night they are sleeping in full uniform and bunkers on and everything.. Nicholas, Big difference than if you are having an orgie or whatever you would like to call it. When you hit the racks your gear should be staged so you get up, jump in your clothes and go. Not to mention in a paid department the Stationhouse is city property aka public property. What if a civilian came running up to bang on the door because the place down the block is on fire, should they have to see a bunch of naked firefighters doin it on the apparatus floor?? Listen man if you can't go to a office job and do this, why should our office be any different? There is a time and place for everything and not to mention common sense.

Mt. Vernon had a worker this morning, and you'll never guess how it came in. Just goes to show you never know what you will find. Oh yea... this was after 2-3 false auto alarms earlier in the morning.

Hey guys R U SERIOUS? Ok if they were off-duty then fine tell them to get a room and get past it. But (and I am qouting the article) these were "accusations of on-duty group sex....in Station 12 and on a fire engine". Now I'm sorry but if you are on-duty don't u think being naked and in some wierd position would delay your response? :-k Even if it is just by two minutes, that is unacceptable. You are being paid to protect people's lives and property. Now I'm not saying that they should be fired on a first offense but they should be disciplined.

Actually EMS is dispatched by the PD. Empress has a rig that is always in the city and is handled in house. If that rig is busy then the PD calls for an out of town rig from the Empress dispatcher.

Don't know about the cops, but 154.145 is the FDMV's primary freq. and 153.830 is the fireground freq. There is one other but it is a backup and is rarely used.
