I fish in the sound often and I can't remember the last time I saw a coast guard boat. If we can funnel money to as many other countries that we do, why can't we give the guy's who patrol our home waters more? And what about indian point? Don't get me wrong I'm all for it, but is it secure?

Watching the Yankees so far this year, makes me want to ask: What happened to the bullpen? When they went out and spent all that money did they think the bullpen didn't matter?? Or did they forget? How many games do we have to watch them blow lead after lead? Just wondering what others thought about this. I say it is time to get rid of our overpaid center-fielder and that steroid using 1st baseman(we got Tino back). Whom can't even play through a cramp :cry2: . Boo freakin hoo! Well I'm sitting here watching the Yanks finally play a good game. Last night, and for the past week really, I have had to see basketball playoffs :help: all over the place. So this in turn made me think of a time long ago when I would feel the temps rising and think of one thing...PLAYOFF HOCKEY!! Man do I miss watching the Rangers and even that other team from LI. :---) Well I miss the Rangers anyway!! Anyone think we will see pro hockey again? Will you be willing to go see them after what they did to us this year? Should the league give the loyal fan's something to bring us back if there ever is a next season? In the flycar topic I made a statement in regards to EMS coming from (for example) the Bronx to Pelham. Then the question was posed: Why? Good question. Just wondering if anybody could shed some light on how EMS Mutual Aid is organized? Can a private EMS provider contract m/a with whomever they wish or are there any restrictions?

Hey don't get snippy about it. Emergicare was one that I was thinking of. Which is why I asked if there are more than one company under the Empress name. You see I'm not overly versed in the inner workings of Empress. Also you ocasionally see some other company (can't remember the name) respond on an EMS call not a transport. True this is kinda rare, but even Empress can be overwhelmed on a busy day. All that aside; this still doesn't answer my original questions though. I was looking for some general insight on the EMS system as a whole not a discussion about Empress and their Shortcomings.

Sounds like a load to me. Always thought the officer on scene was responsible for letting the dispatcher know what is going on, who's working, and whatever else they need. How do you relocate when for all you know you will have the original companies back in ten minutes because it was a couch or something that was contained in five minutes.
