Funny those rims look similar to the one's on my SVT Focus. SVT's would look so much better if they could come out with a better looking rim. Otherwise, I can't wait for the test drive.

Ain't that the truth!!!! F**king NEXTEL...too bad they are the only one's with a good direct connect.

Damn Hoss you stole the words right from my mouth. Brazil and other South American countries are leading the way to never using gasoline again. This is most definitely a path we must look to follow here in the US. I hate supporting Saudi princes and their fleet of BMW's. Oh and 648 no thanks bro. It cost me $40 to fill my Ford Focus yesterday that was enough.

Chalk away kids, but you gotta be brain dead (or not care at all) to not know that the new ones are an under 21 license. NY should just go vertical for under 21 and horizontal for over 21. Then there would be no guessing. BTW a chalked license is a felony charge...just food for thought in the never ending battle between teens and those who sell booze.

You've got to be kidding right? I'd rather eat fish I caught in the Hutch....well maybe not but still.

Those salaries that you listed are the top pay??

-
Hey 648, You bored at work again?
-

It's amazing that people just sat there and didn't do a thing. I hope the news crew embarassed the hell out of them on the street after the fact.

While I do agree that there should be a duty crew, I think you are wrong about the 20 seconds. Yes it could make a difference, and do you really think it just takes 20 seconds? CarXXX come in....CarXXX come in....CarXXX take in an aided at XXX....CarXXX 10-4. Now they turn to the VAC radio, turn up the volume, check the address again, proceed to hit the tones...and the process begins. Now unless CarXXX is a EMT or medic with supplies, you just wasted a lot of time for nothing.

Post office may honor Tuckahoe's Ronald Bucca By KEN VALENTI kvalenti@lohud.com THE JOURNAL NEWS (Original publication: March 30, 2006) TUCKAHOE — Ronald Bucca, a New York City firefighter and village resident who died at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, is expected to be immortalized soon by the renaming of the village post office branch. "This is his hometown. What better way of honoring him?" said Phil White, a past village mayor who is a leader of the effort. A law to rename the postal facility at 7 Columbus Ave., introduced this month by Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, is being considered by the House of Representative's Committee on Government Reform. It is co-sponsored by all other 28 New York state representatives. "We're honored," said Bucca's daughter, Jessica Bucca, a 28-year-old teacher at Tuckahoe High School. "You realize just how much of an impact my dad made." She spoke on behalf of herself and her family — mother Eve Bucca and brother Ron Bucca — when she said they appreciated knowing how much her father was respected for his sacrifice. "To have something in town named after him, it's ... a nice symbol," she said. Bucca was 47 years old when he became the only fire marshal on the New York City Fire Department to die in the attacks. He had served 29 years in the military and had been a Green Beret. He received five Medals of Valor while serving with the 101st Airborne Division. The 23-year veteran of the city Fire Department had been a fire marshal since 1992. In 1986, he survived a five-story fall while trying to save a fellow firefighter. "Here's a gentleman that served our country with distinction and valor and survived several tours of duty and then was killed in a terrorist act, an act of military aggression, frankly," said Town Supervisor Anthony S. Colavita of Eastchester, which includes Tuckahoe. "We felt a great sense of loss. The Tuckahoe post office is a very busy place and it seemed appropriate to name that governmental facility for a man who served his government and all of us so well." Post office names are occasionally changed by acts of Congress, the U.S. Postal Service said. Michael Martino, Tuckahoe's current mayor, said the village board supported the effort. He described Bucca as a "quiet hero" who remained low-key despite his many deeds. "It's our privilege to support the dedication," he said. "It's the least of what we could do in his memory and for his family. His contributions are just unbelievable."

SKIP is very interesting. Was sitting at work one rainy night and there was a nice front running up and down the east coast. All of a sudden I hear a box assignment come over the radio, with just a slightly different dispatch style. Now here's the weird part, the location they sent out exists in MV and the assignment was the same that we would send for that box!! The only thing that gave it away was the box number was wrong (that and I was sitting in the alarm bureau and knew it wasn't us). A minute or two later they came back on and it turned out to be a dept. in Virginia...I think it was Richmond or something (can't remember right now). And another time we heard a dept from Ohio!! Skip is very interesting.

So you are saying a county wide career EMS is what we need? Or just better organization and VAC's with duty crews assigned around the clock?

New Castle, North Castle to save money on paramedic deal By ELIZABETH GANGA eganga@lohud.com THE JOURNAL NEWS The numbers (Original publication: March 30, 2006) New Castle and North Castle will pay less for paramedic service next year under an agreement worked out yesterday by a consortium of northern Westchester towns that contract together for advanced life support services. The other six towns in the consortium would pay slightly more to have paramedics back up their volunteer ambulance services in responding to emergencies. Paramedics can provide a higher level of care than the ambulance-corps members and respond to scenes in "fly cars" that are stocked with more medicines and equipment. The volunteers then transport patients to the hospital. Since 2000, the eight towns have contracted with Westchester EMS, which is run by a network of Westchester hospitals under the umbrella of Stellaris Health. But New Castle officials have long complained that their town pays an unfair share of the total cost, about $1.5 million this year. Under the current formula, which is based on population and the value of the town's real estate, only Bedford pays more than New Castle. The formula agreed to yesterday, which must be approved by the individual town and village boards, involves call volume and each town's square miles. The other municipalities in the consortium are Mount Kisco, Pound Ridge, Lewisboro, Somers and North Salem. New Castle Supervisor Janet Wells said she thought the change made a substantial difference for New Castle. But that doesn't completely resolve the future of paramedic service in the town, an issue that is growing increasingly contentious between those who favor staying in the Stellaris consortium and those who think the town could get better response times for the same or even less money. Wells has been investigating whether New Castle should withdraw from the consortium and contract separately for its own paramedic service. She has been concerned about response times to emergencies in the part of town served by Westchester EMS and has argued that having a paramedic service stationed in New Castle could make a meaningful difference in a life-and-death situation. Under the consortium, three fly cars cover all or part of the eight towns, with the closest to New Castle stationed in Mount Kisco. The part of New Castle west of the Taconic Parkway is served by paramedics from Ossining. The New Castle Town Board recently asked for proposals from ambulance companies, and the responses are due April 6. The consortium's three-year contract is up this year, and New Castle has to notify the other towns by May 1 if it wants to withdraw. Wells said the funding change agreed to yesterday makes the cost less of a glaring issue, but the town will still look at the bids from other companies. "This just had to come first," she said. The New Castle Town Board is divided over the wisdom of dropping Westchester EMS. Councilwoman Barbara Gerrard agreed last week that the funding formula was a little out of wack but she indicated she wouldn't support withdrawing unless a separate service cost a lot less. She argued that the technicians from the Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Service support staying in the consortium because of the high quality of the paramedics. "They see how trained these people are," she said. "They see how dedicated they are." Percentage of the total cost of paramedic service for eight northern Westchester towns in 2007 under the current formula Bedford 19.5 Lewisboro 12.4 Mount Kisco 7.7 New Castle 18.3 North Castle 12.2 North Salem 5.4 Pound Ridge 6.7 Somers 17.7 Percentage under the new formula Bedford 20 Lewisboro 12.5 Mount Kisco 8.3 New Castle 15.8 North Castle 11.4 North Salem 6.5 Pound Ridge 7 Somers 18.5
