I will admit, I was very, very disappointed by the turnout. The amount of vendors and merchandise was very nice, yet the turnout in general was sad. Much much lower than I had anticipated. I am wondering if the nice weather had anything to do with it? people finding other things to do with the nice day. Hoping to one day get to meet some of the EMTBravo population, and thought this may have been a big attraction for some of them. Probably a few went, but no one knows who I am/where I was.

I have always found this to be an easier numbering system than some other counties, i.e. 13-4-2 Each has their own points, it kind of makes sense the other systems, maybe its just because I am so used to the Dutchess numbering system that I prefer it.

Thanks Ole129K! I was going by memory, and messed up a few, not copying and pasting

Well.... Here is a start, I will as more as it comes to me The first number is the department ID: 31 - Amenia 32 - Arlington 33 - City of Beacon 34 - Beekman 35 - Chelsea 36 - Dover 37 - Dutchess Junction 38 - East Clinton 39 - East Fishkill 41 - Fairview 42 - Village of Fishkill 43 - Glenham 44 - Hillside 45 - Hughsonville 46 - Hyde Park 47 - LaGrange 48 - Milan 49 - Millbrook 51 - Millerton 52 - New Hackensack 53 - New Hamburg 54 - Pawling 55 - Pine Plains 56 - Pleasant Valley 57 - City of Poughkeepsie 58 - Red Hook 59 - Rhinebeck 61 - Rhinecliff 62 - Rombout 63 - Roosevelt 64 - Staatsburg 65 - Stanford 66 - Tivoli 67 - Union Vale 68 - Village of Wappingers 69 - Wassaic 71 - West Clinton Ambulance providers are: 81 - Alamo 82 - Beacon Volunteer 83 - Used to be Sloper-Willen I believe 84 - Northern Dutchess 85 - TransCare (Town of Wappinger) 91 - Castle Point 92 - DC Airport 93 - Greenhaven Correctional 94 - Harlem Valley Psych Center (disbanded) 95 - Hudson River Psych Center (disbanded) 96 - IBM East Fishkill 97 - IBM Poughkeepsie 98 - Mattawan Correctional Facility (????) 99 - Wassaic Developmental Center (disbanded) Any second number from: 1-6 is a chief officer 7-8 EMS Officer 11-19, 21-29 is an engine/pumper 31-39 is a tanker/tender 41-49 would technically be ladder, but only 45 and 46 tend to get used. 51-59 is rescues. 61-69 are utility/specialty vehicles (brush trucks, utilities, mechanics vehicles, squads etc...) 71-79 are BLS ambulances 81-89 are ALS ambulances (commercial and paid/combination department), I know that East Fishkill 39-81 is a hose truck/pumper, Union Vale 67-81 is Lazy Lay, hose reel truck, volunteer setting. 91-99 are specialty "vehicles" Certain 90s are specific positions, including Safety Officer (95 I believe) I cannot speak for any other departments, but I know that in East Fishkill, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 are commissioner IDs. 99s tend to be boats A complete list used to be on Fordyce.org, but stupid hacker bitches had to screw that all up for us!! Here is a link to list of all rigs broken down by department. This is partially accurate at least, a few inconsistencies though. http://nf2g.com/scannist/ny_dutc/dutchess_fire.txt

Updated course dates:
-
Hey ALS, I sent an e-mail to the address listed on the site http://www.nytemsa.org on the 7th, and I haven't heard anything back. Maybe, if its not asking too much, can you try and find out the dates through your contacts, that the course will actually take place, because there is a conflicting report on 2 different places I found the info.

Lol, its like staring into a funhouse with all the mirrors. I wish I saw some of that up this way. Barely any of those up in Dutchess (if there are any) apparatus with Chevrons, that is.
-
I believe that they are offered a choice of one or the other.

A Rube Goldberg type setup any pyro can enjoy! http://faculty.sunydutchess.edu/walsh/vide...0combustion.wmv A special thanks to Dave Walsh from the DCC Fire Science Program for hosting this. Haha, yea, people with WAYYY too much free time on their hands.

Bump
-
Hahaha!!! Thank goodness they realized it and didn't end up escalating the situation to the point of calling in additional fire and EMS support before they checked it out.
-
Nothing like that up here in Dutchess that I know of.

Was he doing some form of BREAK dancing?

So are you advocating dim, underlit vehicles? I know amber is said to be the best for visibility, but there comes a time when complacency sets in, and the amber doesn't hold the "authority" of other colored lights, and you end up needing a real attention grabber. Hopefully, the increased light power and colors will enable people to notice these vehicles, and take appropriate actions long before the distance they have to get NOW before they notice said vehicles.
-
I've seen better Photoshop jobs before, but this one is admirable. Also, I would say the rig is lacking a lightbar due to the fact it is not complete yet. Looking to the right of the picture, you can see the bare frame of another apparatus, probably in the back lot of a manufacturer.
-
While I understand what you mean, you have to look at this picture. These units do block a considerable percentage of the unit's forward visible lightbar. I do understand your thinking, that if your aim is to have a slicktop "low visibility cruiser" why have something that is a dead giveaway visible? I refer back to my statement, as you can see for yourself, they do block a considerable amount of the lightbar's forward visibility, making a lightbar that much less effective.
-
I have seen at least 2 or 3 at one time, so there are a few, so this increases your odds!! Good luck, let me know how it all works out, lol! The lighting is VERY effective in the daytime, and let me tell you.....nighttime visibility....you will see the glow before you even crest the hill approaching one at night, lol. It looks like the glow from a downed alien space ship.

2K62 is a slicktop with LEDs all around, I am trying to get a good shot to put up. I only have a few shots of it not in the foreground, and/or not cropped to show only the vehicle, so I will try to get a good one to post soon.

The original posting I made lists the dates for the upcoming classes as: Basic - July 17th - 19th Advanced - 20th - 21st On the organizations website, it states I am going to inquire further into this, and get the real dates, and pass along any other information I receive. Thanks for all the info, and opinions on this so far. I REALLY hope to be able to take this class, Basic at the least, and maybe even the Advanced course!

I had forgotten that a few months ago, my father sent me this video from an e-mail, so I uploaded it to YouTube for your viewing enjoyment! Of course, once I uploaded it, I find the same video already uploaded by other people. Well, watch mine at least

Chances are then, that I happened to capture one of possibly a few assigned to Troop K, or Stormville station. I was fortunate enough to notice it and get the trooper's permission to shoot it today.
