  1. I agree! I wish I would be available for that Open House, but of course, no, I will be in Poughkeepsie, just in class!! Figures! Ok, Ole129K, you are now our official liaison for this! I have seen the outside, I want to know how beautiful it is on the inside. If its anything as far as it looks on the outside, I'll bet its GORGEOUS!
  2. Scarier yet still, I had gone on a trip to Australia in Summer 2001. My return flight was from LAX to Newark. I arrived home on August 11, 2001. My visa in my passport is from the same day (Australia is in the next day from the International Date Line, so i left on the 11th in Australia, and arrived home "the same day", wben thought almost 24 hours later)! That is also the last time I have flown on a commercial airline. I can not even imagine what airports and airlines must be like thesae days!
  3. Was sitting in the cafeteria, 4th period, senior year of HS, when they made the announcement about the attacks. There was more to my discovery, but I shall post that at another time.
  4. Well, at least it is a first step. Previously, even as a member of "the public" who had not registered, you could read topics, and your name would not show up as viewing the forum. At least not, if they have registered, it WILL pop up who is viewing the forum, and you can not be as SNEAKY and low down as they used to be. Also, whatEVER in this world would make you think that jayhalsey??
  5. You know, I always thought that all the burgers and everything are frozen. I never knew they mixed the burger meat right there in the store??
  6. I think this would be better discussed in a new thread about that topic than in this thread!
  7. 2008? Chevy Suburban, dark Maroon. 39-8 got an identical vehicle, just a dark navy blue. They are currently unlettered, and no warning lights installed.
  8. If it had an easily adjustable on/off switch (it may, I did not look too much at it) I would like it. It would make life easier than trying to pick up the handlight every time you wanted it pointed in a specific spot, ESPECIALLY if you ARE the nozzleman, you can use the nozzle to point the light in the direction you are wanting to, instead about worrying about changing hands, or fumbling with 2 different things!!
  9. Stay in front of the rig, on the SAFE side of the rig, and always, always be observant!!
  10. One of our chauffeurs runs a tractor trailer for a living, and has a train horn installed in his truck. Every time he passes the firehouse, he blows it if someone is there, and keeps making me think a locomotive is coming! I can only imagine what this rig sounds like in person!!
  11. All photos from NY Daily News (nydailynews.com) Boat has built in radiation detection equipment, and also comes with a 20 inch remote control submarine vessel to inspect underbellies of ships in the Harbor. Awesome addition NYPD!!
  12. EMT information from SUNY DCC's website.
  13. Talk about ingenuity! Kudos to those who think outside the box. Its good to see these trucks getting additional use, instead of just trying to get rid of them and get the newest shiniest toys like some departments. Hope the best for this rig, and many more years of service!
  14. Ok, so maybe I am/was looking in the wrong place, but is this just an idea that Seth threw out, one that one of us threw out, or is it actually going into effect? I have thought for a long time that it should be like that, that you had to register to even SEE the forums, so that those people out there, labeler LURKERS, have to put in who they are. I wish that there was also a way to make it that they had to PARTICIPATE TOO to gain access to view things, because I know there are people out there who look to find information that has been posted, just to take that back to their respective firehouse(s) and crucify said individual for something they said. I hardly think it fair that they can come in under the guise of anonymity, and find out things being said/discussed, and then miraculously be able to jump into a discussion, or have "vital information/blackmail" when it comes time to berate another person for something that was said! [/RANT]
  15. It is my understanding that so long as your 18th birthday falls by the END OF THE MONTH in which you take your state exam, it is acceptable. Anyone that can correct me?? I am pretty sure that is the rule at least. Also, congratulations. I just recently attained my EMT, and it has opened a new world, and many new opportunities, including job opportunities. If you feel even a slight interest, I highly recommend pursuing it!
  16. HAHAHA!! Couldn't resist posting after we watched this stuff, huh?? You can download free ringtones from his website, of him doing MANY different impressions as ringers, but I am sure there is some fee, probably texting the ringtone to your phone. http://frankcaliendo.com/index.php?page=do...ellPhoneRingers
  17. Chances are any questions you have, have already been answered!!! Like your question was answered here: http://emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=19995&hl=
  18. You're too much ALS!
  19. I will be out at the State Academy taking mine today, anyone else? If so, good luck to all, I know I will need it!!!
  20. Well, I noticed that Deputy Chief Pells was cruising this thread, his name popped up at the bottom. I wish you guys the best of luck in dealing with this! I have a friend who is just applying to volly with AFD, and I hope this will not affect his joining.
  21. Wonderful. Just great.
  22. A: Probably not, but I am sure it will end that way. Q: Is this thread going downhill at an alarming rate???
  23. They now run with 2 engines, 1 utility, and 1 EMS flycar (96-11, 96-13, 96-67, 96-69). 96-11 is a 1980s E-One with a Ford cab/chassis? I believe 96-13 is a 1982 International/VanPelt 96-67 is a 1990s E-one F-series with Box on the back. IBM EF 96-13
  24. Ahhh, so THAT is why I saw all the cones and barriers up there by the ER over the past month or so. Saints can DEFINITELY use the room. It seems ridiculously small for a Trauma Center (at least I would think so, its not like I have been to many trauma centers to compare it to).
  25. A: YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Q: How many firefighters does it take to change a light bulb?
