  1. Suggest moving this to the Mediashare forum. http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showforum=67 done.

  3. Yes, I heard about it getting torn down too, one of the links I posted for the Urban Explorers forum stated the same info, sad to see it go!! Agreed!! I love the history of the area, and the architectural gems, as you stated Seth.
  4. Haha, just met the bloke the other day for the first time! Congrats on the chief, and Happy Birthday!!!
  5. I think the conversation came up when talking about the Hudson River Psych Fire, since it was an abandoned structure also. Its called the Bennett School, which is in Millbrook. I am having a hard time finding that thread/post as well! Enjoy these links in the mean time!!! http://www.uer.ca/forum_showthread.asp?fid...&currpage=1 http://www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com/be...ok_new_york.htm

  7. Don't know if this has been posted before, but I found this on another forum. Good bit! "It's No Picnic"
  8. Ya beat me to posting this FFD941!!!! Definitely an interesting incident, which I never really considered happening before, but then again, getting hooked on anything hanging off your gear is a harsh reality, but the device for FF safety never crossed my mind as presenting a threat at all!!!
  9. I see both sides of the coin here. My $0.02 is this: If Police/Fire Line Tape is up, ASK PERMISSION to cross it. If you present as legit media, most times, you may be allowed to pass. Just taking it upon yourself to cross the posted lines and then expect NOT to take some heat??? That is just asking for trouble. Also, no offense to the media, but some, I repeat SOME (not all) look to sensationalize. When a firefighter/police/EMS person gets in trouble for ANY reason, even when its not affiliated with the firehouse, how many times do they find it necessary to say "The off-duty firefighter/volunteer firefighter/police officer was arrested for DWI". If it was in a department vehicle, or on a scene of a call, its one thing. When its just some idiot being stupid, its another!! [/rant]
  10. I just happened to SPOT this. You are milking this for all you can, huh?
  11. STOP STEALING MY MOTTO!!!! Lol
  12. I swear, I am going to go nuts if I have to hear an udder joke about cows in Millbrook!
  13. Well, so long as no one takes out any weapons and displays them with the girls it shouldn't be an issue, right?
  14. Man, I wish I knew it was going on. I actually have this weekend off from work, I would have planned on going.
  15. I think it would go something like this: "OH SH.................................." And that is all they would have the time to utter. Sweet weapon though. Power in simplicity.
  16. Well duh. Introduce oxygen to an oxygen starved environment, and complete the fire tetrahedron and guess what?? FIRE!!! Kudos to the officers nonetheless, for their quick thinking, saving that mans life!!!
  17. Also, if one was able to select exactly WHAT, or WHERE they wanted pages from (i.e. I would be interested in Dutchess primarily, not so much Westchester), I would be up for it!!
  18. I know I have limited input here, but Seth, you had no reason to have to go through a battle like that with a member out in public forum. You don't have to defend your actions, or get into a battle royale in front of everyone. I am not criticizing your actions, just saying, don't feel the need to duke it out in the public forum, whether or not you have been "called out"!!
  19. Seth, didn't we already have a script like this that locked them out after 30 days of inactivity? Was that lost on server upgrades?
  20. So as to not completely hijack the Boston thread. Here you go! Its the LAW!! There is aggressive placement, then there is dangerous!!! Just remember, OSHA says 10 feet minimum distance from ANY WIRES!!! Below is a picture of the setup where the Scranton PA captain died. Remember, he died from electrocution, not because the aerial came into contact with lines, but because the power arc-ed!! http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.sh...S&p_id=9910 While many find it necessary to try and circumvent things that are out there to protect ourselves, not only is it just in our best interests, it is BLATANT VIOLATION OF THE LAW!
  21. Well, that is your opinion, and everyone is entitled to one. Opinions are like.....well, I think we all know that quote. I don't deny it must be a terrible experience to have a co-worker and friend die before you, and no, I would not know what it is like, but this thread has been about fireground and aerial safety, not a point by point criticism of a FF LODD. Please go back and read the topic. Its called Aerial Apparatus Safety. Please contribute accordingly, because you seem to know it all!
  22. I do not have to defend my actions, knowledge, or experience to anyone who is not willing to actively participate in a calm, collective manner. Everyone has something to contribute, but it takes the right person to sit back, and listen, instead of criticize, criticize, criticize.
  23. I have nothing to "hide" by sitting behind a computer. I am always more than happy to have a REAL roundtable, or personal discussion. This forum is just readily available, and reaches a larger audience faster. If you really have such a personal problem with me, feel free to PM me, we can set up a meeting and discuss this, and you might see that we really aren't so different. Also, yes, if a family member made a mistake, and I had the opportunity to prevent someone else from dying by making the same mistake, I would be more than happy to discuss it in a public forum.
  24. Well, I know I do not know everything, but what are ya tryin to say Scott??
