  1. If you had read 2 posts above yours, you would have seen him answer this question already, because someone else already asked it.

  3. I've always wanted to go to FDIC. This year, it is work and a lack of sufficient funds that prevented me, but hopefully next year, I can have a lil buffer with time and $$ to afford it!!
  4. Thanks Shawn. Yes, this actual very issue was brought up in the posting about East Fishkill's new Rescue 51. It has a blue LED warning light on the back of the new vehicle, and in the thread, this post was made. Please follow the link to find the reply from Chief Scott Post Re: Blue Light Issue http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?s=&s...st&p=130460
  5. Lol, while I agree, I guess it would depend on what was being discussed!!!
  6. Yea, I saw some excavators sitting out in the front. Heard that one of the walls was buckling, and had to be inspected by building inspectors. I DID hear a rumor about it, but I am not going to post, since we all know how rumors are, but if I hear it from more than one source, I will be more likely to believe it.
  7. He has a VERY nice camera, which I keep bugging him I want if he upgrades, lol, and he shoots with the photos in RAW form, which is an uncompressed format, allowing for not trimming of corners with quality. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_image_format
  8. The East Fishkill Fire District, in Dutchess County NY, has taken delivery of a new 2008 International/Marion 4x4 Special Operations Rescue Vehicle. This vehicle features a non-walk-in box, with a 5 person International cab, pump and water tank (capacities I don't remember off hand) pre-connects for hoselines and Hurst tools, and compartments to host a pre-set Stokes with all equipment for FASTeam operation, Cold Water Rescue gear, Extrication equipment and cribbing, and Rope Rescue gear. This vehicle will also be set up to respond as a first response vehicle to EMS calls, pump-outs, and brush fires. For MVAs, its intention is to eliminate the need to roll a rescue, and a pumper, and handle both in one vehicle. This vehicle features an all Whelen lighting package, and yes, a REAL Q2B (first new one in the department in 15 years). As I get more details, I will post them here, if someone doesn't beat me to it! This unit is not in service yet, and is being outfitted with all the tools, and mounts for the tools. No expected in-service date as of yet.
  9. Looks nice!! Good luck with it!!
  10. Man, I am disappointed I did not hear about this job until this morning. I was up in Poughkeepsie at an, uh, "establishment" at that time, and woulda have buffed it had I known it was going on!!! Nice pics by all!!
  11. I guess I have been fortunate enough to not have needed to find/use an ICE yet.
  12. Locked, but kept for enjoyment of seeing funny website!
  13. Whereas some people might consider it to be a "mess", think about all the smoke and water damage you are preventing by using it, and using LESS water in turn, to knock down a fire so much faster! Using less water and a greater punch for the effort, it also helps to preserve evidence, since you are using less water, and not washing away the evidence. It is great to preserve that for the FIU. That which is preserved might make or break an investigation.
  14. Does it really work?? I put in my address and it popped up with 4 results, one supposedly where my own house sits. Another "result" showed a Rape convicted felon living in the local cemetary. When I put in my next door neighbors address, there popped up 20 or so results, and none of them matched ANY of the first round of "results". I am somewhat skeptical.
  15. Ya know, crazy as it sounds, I like 'em!
  16. So yea, my dilemma is this. I have all kinds of gunk that has built up behind my laptop's LCD monitor, and when there is a while background on the screen, it all shows up, and its driving me nuts. I am trying to avoid taking apart my screen if at all possible. Any suggestions?? I tried to use compressed air to blow out behind it, but it didnt seem to do much of anything.
  17. Well, it is dust, and other junk, as you said. My laptop migrates, as a laptop would. It either sits in my room, or comes with me, on excursions. Would say that 90% of the time it sits in my room.
  18. Well, the best advice I can give you is ship it to my house. I will get it tuned in properly!!!
  19. Brinckerhoff Elementary (and that immediate area) are covered by the Rombout FD. Rombout Station 2 is off of Cedar Hill road, just a few miles down the road. http://romboutfire.com/ There are a couple of Rombout members here on the boards, they might be able to help you out!! Doc is one who might be able to help you out! Good luck with joining, and let us know how you make out!!
  20. I first noticed this on FirefighterCloseCalls. http://www.firefighterclosecalls.com/fullstory.php?62783
  21. Funny, but it raises some very legitimate points. So sit back, relax, laugh, and learn some lessons from this video! http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting Also, all you have to do, is replace when he says "Steam" with "EMTBravo" and it works!
  22. Get Firefox2!
  23. I attempted to locate the original posting of this, but was unable to find it. I wanted to make sure that I did not re-post it. The search function was misbehaving and not giving me any results.
  24. Already been posted several times. Here is one. http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=20745 The Search Function is your friend. As well as spending way too much time on the boards.
  25. Hmmmmm, go out and drink on my birthday, or stay home and watch Deadliest Catch. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
