  1. I knew it had 'goat' in the name, but I didn't want to try and remember, because the only name that came to mind was "The Feisty Goat" from EuroTrip!
  2. Do I hear a photo hunt coming on?? PM me Dan, I'm free this weekend, and this sounds like an intriguing outing!!
  3. East Fishkill ran a 1968, 85' Young Snorkel from 1990-1999. The purchase of the 95' Aerial Platform in 1993 gave East Fishkill 2 Trucks, again, until 1999, when the Snorkel was sold. It currently is owned, I believe by a tree cutting company, or roofing company out of Hyde Park/Poughkeepsie area. I saw it 3-4 years or so ago, working on a side street between Main Street and 44/55 East. Wish I had stopped to take a pic!! To the best of my knowledge, there are no more active in-service Snorkels in Dutchess anymore.
  4. Thanks for posting this info Mark!
  5. I would have to guess only new apparatus. To try and force people to go out and add onto their older apparatus would be quite an undertaking.
  6. You know, when I first started seeing the Chevrons on fire/EMS apparatus, I too thought they looked absolutely horrible, but wouldn't ya guess it, they've grown on me, and I love 'em now!
  7. 3 Videos have been posted on Dave Walsh's page. The top 3 videos are of the FIT5 Test. http://faculty.sunydutchess.edu/walsh/vide...SC/firemisc.htm

  11. Very true Chief. Unfortunately, all the political bureaucracy, and all the "powers that be" turn a blind eye to such reminders of their own history, and look forward to "healing the wounds" and pinching pennies.
  12. Read 3 posts above your own. Already has been stated. Thank you.
  13. Unfortunately these days, it does. Its sad when children from other countries know more about the history of the USA than most adults from the USA itself. A sad, unfortunate truth these days.
  14. 365 feet, huh Seth?? Better double check those specs!! I would LOVE to see something reach that far, especially when top of the line Aerials top out around 135-145'. I'll save you the trouble, its in inches, not feet
  15. **GRAB** Mmmmmmmmm......Venisonnnnnnn.....
  16. As I always say.... Stupid People = Job Security!!
  17. Unless one is a discharge??
  18. One of the main responsibilities of County Cars at any major incident is supposed to be a liaison to DC911, and any other agencies. If the IC needs, lets say DOT for sand for a large spill, or the DC Command Vehicle, they can ask the CC, and the CC can use their resources to make the arrangements. Also if refreshments are needed at long duration events. This is meant to take a large burden off of the IC, and they can focus on the main incident. Many misconceptions are that the County Cars come to take command and manage the incidents, which is false. County Cars are nothing more (no offense meant) than another resource. If you needed 2 TLs for a major fire, they can make the call, to decide which ones to request, so as to not strip immediate surrounding ones, or, they can just request them from DC911, and the County can dispatch the best ones suited.
  19. Awww c'mon now Rob, it was sad to see such a beautiful bit of old school architecture go up, I wouldn't wish that again!! Or maybe its just me, idk!
  20. To all those who PMed me for the copy of the e-mail with the .PPT, please check your e-mails, I sent it to all who PMed me. If you received it, good, if not, please PM me back, and I will attempt to send it again!! I am glad to see my old club growing up!!! The year of the inception of the DCC Fire Science Club, I was the Vice President for its first semester, and the 2nd and 3rd Semesters of its existence, I was the President. Couldn't be happier to see it taking off in such a positive direction!! Bravo guys!!!!
  21. I personally was not able to make it there. If Fireman2138, or sr71 sees this, they can comment. I DO however, have a Powerpoint about the demo from the Teacher of Fire Science at DCC, Dave Walsh. Unfortunately, the file size is 4.5MB, too large for the 2MB max. upload size for this site. If anyone wants it, please PM me with your e-mail address, and I can pass it on to you!
  22. Awesome! Good things to hear!! Good luck with it!!
  23. I thought they were discontinuing the CV at some point??
  24. SWS1, just FYI, you blanked out the license plate in the top picture, but no in the shot of the rear. Shawn, good luck with it. I know you and the Beekman Boys will put it to good use!! (and yes, Beekman Ladies too!)
