Being that it is a Rescue pumper, I would assume that there is at least SOME degree of EMS "First Responder" equipment on board, as seems to be becoming the standard these days (i.e. suction, AED, charger for battery operated tools like Sawzalls etc....).

I cannot speak for any other counties/regions, but I will admit Seth, yes, Dutchess is a rare breed. Dutchess County is one of the few counties left in NYS that still hosts a "Weekend" at Montour Falls every year. This year, it will be year #17, and it is gets stronger every year. I have had the great honor of attending this for several years, but it appears I will not be making it this year, and I am very saddened. It is a time when all departments, no matter what issues that DO exist between certain companies (yes, there are some yet still), everyone has a good time, with TONS of laughs, and a few sips of spirits usually accompany them. So, if anyone wants to give up a spot, let me know, I want to go to DC Weekend #17 this year!!!!!!

As for the high hose-bed, that is typical of rigs with a larger booster tank (this one having a 1000 gal tank). And as for the remote control deck gun, not having to send a firefighter teetering on top of a rig to control a deck gun, especially if freezing and slick, and if it needs to be moved after sitting in one position, it can be controlled from elsewhere (as was mentioned a remote control). Kudos, gentlemen, on a beautiful, and apparently VERY well spec-ed out rig. Best of luck with it. Rob, I expect an invitation to come shoot pictures!!

A previous thread about just such devices (lots of information posted in there): http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=17965

Just because someone is a suspect, does not mean they are guilty, nor that they are a "bad guy". What if you were in the wrong place, at the wrong time (hanging out with some friends) and this went down. You are arrested or detained as a "suspect" until you are found to not be one. Doesn't mean you are guilty of anything other than; being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know what you mean, and chances ARE that they were involved somewhere, but never assume...

Ok, so with some of the posts recently mentioning them, I have been interested in spear-heading trying to get some stickers made up. The other Admins, Moderators, and myself came up with a few ideas, but before revealing them I wanted to open up the "floor" to the membership, to see what ideas everyone had. What is the interest? What ideas do you have? Do you prefer helmet stickers, bumper stickers, window stickers, or more than one? Let us know, and we'll go from there!!

That would be KED348 (Dutchess Co. 911 FCC ID) KED348 I would thereby assume that the KED### setup is the FCC ID for Public Safety dispatch departments.

Well Don, if you got more fires, I would probably be there too, and a lot faster, lol!

The sad part?? I plugged the address into the GPS in my Verizon phone: "No address found" Tried 'Grey Street': "No address found" Looked at the general map of the roads on teh GPS on my phone, sure enough, there was the street, but the search couldn't find it!!!! Don't get me started!
-
Well, after getting lost trying to find Gray St., we found ourselves behind E-2, and were on scene with them before 911 banged out the possible structure on Montgomery. Thought maybe we had lucked out!! sr71 and SPFC56-233 SHOULD have some pics up later, and fdphotounit if he posts them.

So, the sticker idea seems to be a winner. Does anyone have any SUGGESTIONS for what should appear on these?? We don't want to invest in any large bulk quantity of anything without some show of support. If YOU guys and gals are going to purchase them, shouldn't they show off something that YOU WANT, and YOU CHOOSE???

All I have to say is: Who is going to bail us out, the lowly taxpayers??
-
Yes, it does look like an oil tanker. Seems to me I have seen construction equipment in that private road for years though.

Maps.Live.Com Aerial View Click on "Bird's Eye View" for a good look at the house. Since maps.google.com won't show the ACTUAL address, the bet info they could give me was the Latitude and Longitude of the house, so for those with the time and patience, here it is! 41.580453, -73.775320

I did get to help with overhaul thank you very much!!

Units o/s were 39-1, 39-2, 39-4, 39-11, 39-15, 39-56, 39-67, 39-71, 39-81, 39-97, 42-12, 34-1, 34-13, and multiple EF tankers for water shuttle. Other engines were assigned to draft sites, including "39-21" (39-16 as acting 39-21), 39-14 relocated to EFFD HQ, Rombout relocated to EFFD St. 1, 39-17 I am not sure where they ended up (draft site I am assuming). I brought my camera with me, but forgot to grab some photos when I had the chance! Assistance for laddering the roof was rendered by Village of Fishkill with 42-12, since EF 39-46 is OOS for work being done on it.

It may be a possibility. We are not discounting anything at this point, BUT.... lets try and keep it simple in the beginning phases.

I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that DC911 has a terminal with the "IAMRESPONDING" system up, and can view who is responding in, should someone call in, and can have an idea if a chief, captain, or lt is on the way to a scene, or to a firehouse.

I haven't used my HT1250 LS+ on Dispatch since the Simulcast, transition, I will have to see if I run into any of the same issues with mine!

Sadly, I have found that no matter HOW MANY lights and sirens you mount on the front of apparatus, people are ignorant, or just plain don't care these days! That, AND there comes a point when it becomes overkill, just IMHO.

HAHAHAHA!!! Priceless!!! And yet in good taste.... Great job!

It has always been my understanding that this really is a grey area. One side I have heard is that TECHNICALLY, you can have almost any color facing the rear, as it would not constitute a warning light in the sense that it does not face forward, and cannot be misconstrued as trying to "pull someone over" using it. On the OTHER hand, the V&T also states that for Vol. FF they can only use one, yes one, BLUE light. So therein it contradicts itself. And again, yes, it does depend on where you are, as some localities will break stones more than others. Again, this was just the interpretation I was under, although I may be wrong, and probably am, so please feel free to clarify/correct me!
