DMM8240, funny, you're "not allowed" to express your opinion, yet here it stands still present. gamewell, you might possibly be right, but there is a fine balance between censorship, and keeping threads available to discuss. While this general topic has been discussed, yes, there is a specific example shown here, and brought to light. Can anyone dispute this? Certainly... is it a general topic beat to death?? Yes, it has, but God forbid a mod step in. I think so long as there is nothing personally to bash anyone, there is no reason it should be deleted, but keep in mind, that arguing any point here is, just as other have said:

Pt is in very rough shape, is in ICU/CCU @ SFH.

With the help of multiple other sources, at the beginning of this year, I compiled a short Reference Guide to DC with links to other sources for frequencies and the sort. See the link below: EMTBravo Dutchess Reference Guide

Apparently Darwin's theory didn't hold true...

I couldn't agree more with everyone's posts here. I have never been more pleased with a cell provider than when I went over to Verizon!

This demo was the first of many planned press-conferences to get the word out about the book. The point of the book is to allow people in the Fire/EMS community to submit stories of who THEIR heroes are. To read more about this book, and/or submit YOUR story, visit You're My Hero - NY.

Chris, there are 2 large "lakes", aka human made ponds on site, in addition to one smaller one. In addition to the Huey, I know the DEP have resources, and West Point does as well (I know WP was called per the IA, although I do not know with what), for aerial drops, as they have done when they have large brush fires on site, just some other resources available (as a rotary wing pilot I am sure you are well aware of other such resources).

I worked at Sharpe Reservation from 2004-2006, and yes, they were going strong as of then (I am sure still experiencing economic issues as is everyone else), but it is a nature preserve, and protected by many federal regulations, and I am sure it is not going anywhere for a while. In fact, they have renovated, and expanded their facilities on site, and I don't believe any development or takeover is in sight. I do miss it there, it is beautiful, quiet, and serene there, and good people. Bernie Ruf retired from there in 2007 after 50 years of service to the non-for-profit Fresh Air Fund, and 20 years as director there. A great, quiet, caring man, who will be greatly missed. http://www.khrfunera...%20Edward%20Ruf

I saw, and helped treat the officer when he arrived via medivac (LifeGuard) @ Saint Francis. He was in pretty rough shape, but was stabilized, before being brought to the OR. I do not know what was done to him up there in the OR, but I helped load him into the outgoing medivac (LifeNet) the next morning. He looked in a LOT better shape, and even remembered me from the previous day (no, not bragging, the fact that he remembered me from the previous day despite his pain, and pain management amazed me to be honest). Best of luck to the officer, and I hope the brothers over from Nbg/OC please keep us updated to his condition. I know it will be a long road to recovery. Haha, yes, had to add that to my signature a couple months back!

Which is more my point, that there are things that can be done, without threatening to withdraw services. Yes, I know its an attention grabber, but unless it really resorts to that, I could think of more constructive angles to approach before "threatening" the public with withholding services.
-
If such is the case, yes its making a statement, but doesn't the public then lose out?? How does it benefit anyone when people stop, or threaten to stop running to emergencies?
-
Amen! It is just another strain of 'The Flu'. Taking standard precautions, as you said, can just short of rule out any chance of getting it, just like any other communicable virus!!!

I received the seasonal vaccine only.

I am glad to see this is continuing!! Initially, these burns were conducted by the DCC Emergency Services Club, as the funding by the Fire Science Program itself wouldn't allow, as I am sure it continues. I was involved with the club at its' inception, and am proud to see they haven't stopped yet! Best of luck!! -Nathan Robbins Former President DCC Emergency Svcs Club

A great human interest piece. Wish they reported more of these type things than what Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan did last night...

Wow, simply amazing, in the tragic sense. I have seen some bad wrecks in my few days in the fire service, but nothing to this extent. I have seen vacuum splints used before, for extremity injuries, but not for full spinal immobilization. I like the idea, and would LOVE to see it take hold over here!!!
-
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that...
-
Ugh... after being there 3 hours, lol, it was an experience...

I was somewhat disappointed at the lack of a turnout. A good time for those who did who, but I wish we can get more next time!!!

Sad that a show I ACTUALLY liked, and was SOMEwhat accurate to real life is gone. A shame this happens all too often...

I found out too late that I will not be working that weekend. I would have loved to go!!!
