And IIRC, the USA had their own memorial during Opening Ceremonies to the 2002 Winter Olympics, but of course NBC was sure to show THAT! I think its disgraceful as well as all the stupid useless banter the announcers made during the Opening Ceremonies for these games. One person claims over 1000 people turned out. I would be amazed if the entire hamlet of Wassaic could handle that much lol, but regardless, looks like an overwhelmingly amazing turnout!!

Welcome to the internet. People can say what they want/think. Also, what is wrong with voicing an opinion outside of a home department? Maybe the fact IS, that not all the facts are there, and people are speaking on what IS there (knowledge of pre-existing apparatus in surrounding areas).

He has been in and out of the hospital for months with no clear diagnosis, has had multiple surgeries, and has missed a lot of work. This weekend, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Jason has been a volunteer fireman for 18 years, first with JH Ketcham Hose Company in Dover Plains, NY and most recently with the Wassaic Fire Company. He is currently the Captain of the Wassaic Fire Company. He has served on various committees and makes most every call. On July 27th, the Lantern Inn in Wassaic, NY and the Wassaic Project are co-hosting a benefit night for Jason. The events begin with A Cake Walk at 6:00pm at Maxon Mills. The band, Shadow Creek, will begin at 8:00pm at the Lantern Inn. There is a $5 cover charge. The Wassaic Fire Company will be selling food. Not exactly! The Crash Truck is "unmanned" per se. The Line Service personnel (or at least some of them) are the ones that will take the vehicle in the event of an emergency, the same way a volunteer would stop their activity and respond to a station and pick up a rig, these guys do the same with the crash truck. Also, for all emergencies on the airport, New Hackensack FD and/or Town of Wappinger Ambulance is dispatched. I stopped filming before the opened up the turrets and emptied the tank, sadly because I was not anticipating them doing so!!!

Couple shots I took at the Airport Open House from last week. The gem of the trip was to see the new Crash Truck they acquired last year!

I happened to not be listening to my scanner for once, and missed out on the whole shebang til I heard about it this AM. Was not sure if any other agencies were involved, as the interviews and news only mentioned NYSP and DSCO. Certainly not holding out on my end, always glad to hear when agencies work together. We are pretty lucky up here that most, if not all PD agencies work very well together. If only the Fire Departments could get their act together and do the same thing.....
