  1. I echo my sentiments from previous posts, of my own, and others here. I cannot even begin to express my sympathy, and sorrow, for the families of the slain officer, both his blood, and professional families. To all the brothers and sisters in the City, and the family of PO Falcone, my sincerest condolences, you are all in my thoughts. Officer Falcone, I salute you. The true content of your character shines through the tragic outcome. Rest In Peace, you served faithfully, and have been taken to a higher calling, and can now take your post. God Speed.
  2. I am still reeling over the events that have unfolded over the last 24 hours here in Poughkeepsie. I cannot even begin to express my sympathy, and sorrow, for the families of the slain officer, both his blood, and professional families. You are all in my thoughts. To all the brothers and sisters in the City, my sincerest condolences. I am 100% certain that anything you need, you just ask, and we all will do, at the drop of a hat. While I cannot officially represent everyone, from myself, at the least, your neighbor over at County. Officer Falcone, I salute you. The true content of your character shines through the tragic outcome. Rest In Peace, you served faithfully, and have been taken to a higher calling, and can now take your post.

  5. Too bad the human body doesn't have bumpers like that. Of course so far as I know, no requirement for seat-belts on most municipal buses? Unrestrained passengers with high speed collision = ouch!!
  6. AWESOME STORY!! Just goes to prove that all they teach you in CPR/EMT classes, that early access to patient really does make all the difference!
  7. I have ALWAYS logged directly into the .NET/Forums.. I practically NEVER even checfk the .COM site, since Day 1 of me using Bravo (Fall '04).
  8. Oh, ok, thanks Mark. **Correction** I saw from one of your pics that it is not a rear dual tire setup, probably explaining my perception.
  9. Whoa... that thing looks like a beast! Is it just me, or are the front wheels disproportionately larger than the rear ones?
  10. To be fair... it also depends on the media to actually reports the stories, too, for us to share them here. Nonetheless, bravo sirs, for a job well done!

  12. IF only it were that simple. Keep in mind, the Staff area always being criticized. If we revoke privileges, we are "too harsh." If we allow things to persist, we "aren't doing our jobs." As I said, this matter is under review. Thank you for understanding.
  13. Part(s) of ER have been merged, the 9-1-1 Addressing people that were housed in the DCER Building got moved to 22 Market and into Real Properties. County Car 2 Position has existed in the past, and has been vacant for many years, and both job duties were managed by John Murphy (recently retired CC-1).
  14. Well it depends, who is "the person" that posts and you cannot read? Please PM one of the Staff. Said person MAY be on 'Moderator Preview' and require their posts to be approved first.
  15. Is there an ability to make a SEPARATE 'Recent IA's' Topic Box, and just filter IA forums into it, just like the 'Recent Topics' box?
  16. As for the 'Fire' side, you have: County Car 1 - County Fire Coordinator County Car 2 - Assistant Fire Coordinator (test announcement just recently came out, position currently vacant) County Car 3 - Emergency Manager County Cars 11-17 - Deputy Fire Coordinators (volunteer members who are the 'on the streets' Coordinators who respond to incidents)
  17. Agreed with what everyone else has been saying, way to think outside the box!
  18. I love the new Challengers, and I like the Chargers, but this new debacle? Eh...
  19. "Welcome to your generic Civil Service test. Today's exam will be held for (looks down at packet) Firefighter. Or Secretary, or Janitor, or Public Health Nurse... depending on which application you filed. Start..... now."
  20. Did you read any of the information in the links provided? They were provided for a reason. I found the answer there. Try looking a little harder!
  21. Meriden (CT) - Fire Station roof collapse:
  22. We have to save money! Let's scale back the FDNY, close firehouses, but no, we NEED 3 executive Chefs... Grade A Bologna!!
  23. Sad but true... "MTV" is just a tease of a name, and relic, of a simpler time...
