To the members coming in on mutual aid, here's another thing to keep in the back of your mind. If MV's current numbers are so inadequate (and they are); then why when all MV units are at a job, is a mutual aid standby level of protection of only 1&1 acceptable?? 2 weeks ago, M/A CO's caught a 2nd job and initially showed up with 4 FF's a LT and a Chief. Ludicrust! MV units became available from the 1st job and responded, but what if they couldn't? The M/A units could have been in a heap of s--t! Please be careful!

In Mount Vernon the magic number this week is 17 firefighters, 4 Officers and a Deputy or Capt in the car.

A smart IC would assign the County Batts as Logistics section chiefs in the ICS. They would be tasked with getting "stuff" needed to help maintain the incident, ie field comm, red cross, salvation army, heavy machinery, etc.

NYS Law states that we may use lights and sirens while responding to the scene of an emergency situation. You will be hard pressed to convince the jury that is looking at the blown up photo of the little girl that was creamed while you were "responding" to another firehouse that your actions were justified...
