BFD1054 is correct about purchase a gun first however that is only a rule in Westchester not in Dutchess in fact they will only issue a permit with out a gun on it first even if you have 1 lined up. I also do not belive that Putnam is nearly as tough to get a permit as Westchester and they offer full carry. TCD0415 got to Putnam County Sheriff or give them a call they should be able to help you. mymack, Not really sure why you think this job is political, I have worked at county Pd for some time and do not think it is that way. As Mofire24 said there have been alot of people come and go here but I really do not think it is political. If you truly want the job as you say than take the test if you pass the written and typeing I am sure you will get called for an interview.

Yes mymack1, there has been major improvements in the radios since the towers where updated. I do not have the details of the furniture as of yet there where some problems with the ordering but as soon as I know I will advise you.

Just to answer the question Yes. The Westchester County Communications Center has not been upgraded in probably close to 30 years, unlike 60 control. The radio room is currently being moved to another part of the building and completely redone with all new equipment. The finish date has not been determined however should be in a few months, by the end of year for sure. Also included was new radio's for all Police Officers and all Police cars. All 10 towers where also updated.

It is April 18th with a rain date of April 19th at the County Center

BFD1054 you are correct about verplanck having the only one in westchester also i belive the only one in lower new york from what nicholas says we have no major problems with the truck and i find that it is an excellent truck and it did get to work at our fire 2 weeks ago i was in the bucket and it did a great job

It is true it did sink and it did sink when it was docked over night I do not believe it can be salvaged it was under water pretty far no one was hurt when i find out further i will let everyone know
