Thankfully the officer had a camera to record the incident. I have been pulled over a few times and never demanded a break. If the officer saw fit, I was given a warning. If I got a ticket I pled guilty and paid the fine. The easiest thing is obey the law.

Congrats and best wishes.

Congratulations and best wishes on your retirement, Bill. 1979 was a good year for both of us. You should be proud of not only what you accomplished in Yonkers, but what you did for the County. And to think, you worked with my sister at the A&P on Odell Ave. way back when.

Congratulations to Joe, Frank and Bill. Best wishes and stay safe.

That is Station 8, Warburton Ave.

A few years ago a member of FDNY who went out on a disabilty made a rescue in his volunteer dept. on Long Island. Made the news. He was arrested for fraud, had to make restitution and lost his pension. Was it worth it>

My condolences to Ed and the Rush family. Ray was a true gentleman and did so much for all of the Westchester Fire Service. He was my instructor for Ed. Meth. in Montour in '94, and I had the pleasure of watching the Rangers win the Stanley Cup with him in the RBI. He will be truly missed. Rob Kerr

Having known Packy for thirty years it comes as no surprise Chris acted in such a manner. Good job Chris. A credit to the FDNY as well as the Westchester fire service.

I caught that too, John. Ken Rosethal is a little FOX weasel. Jete handled it well and then I switched to YES.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Joyce family and to the YFD. May he rest in peace. My hope for a speedy recovery to the two injured members.

It sure is nice being retired and living in Putnam County.

I have known John for 20-plus years since my brother got on the job in Rye FD. I will miss his stories of the old days in Hartsdale. He had a long devotion to the fire service and he will surely be missed. My condolences to the Wickham family and the members of the Rye FD.

I caught that too Barry when I read the paper today. They must have had those smokable link sprinklers.

Generally the second week of September, so this fall 9/8/08.

Those pictures bring back memories. TL4 was the first rig I drove when I stated as a probie on March 16, 1979. Driver traing with Capt. Mal. I also worked that job in Hartsdale, We were up in the bucket. The one thing I remember it was the Monday after the Yonkers St. Patrick's day parade.

The Career Academy Class starts March 10 and I believe out of the Towns and Villages include Larchmont, Scarsdale, Port Chester, Fairview and Greenville. Not that I'm a genius but I was a proctor at the CPAT test.

I can't believe it's ten years! I checked out the pictures and there was L4 stuck on the practice green of the golf course. If it wasn't for the Village's front end loader we would have to leave it there and make a minature golf course around it. I remeber working the D expossure building with 61 engine and then working the penthouse with FDNR. Tommy Mo was there so I got to work a job with him.

R.I.P. brother. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Martinson family and the FDNY.
-
My condolences to the Thompson family. Ray was my original EMT instructor in 1979. He had a great impact on the entire Westchester County emergency services. Rest in peace, Ray.

Is that the same Judge Judy wannabe who was taking a broadcast course in Connecticut when he was supposed to be in Court in Westchester? Nah, it couldn't be.
