a little off subject, it is nice to see that P-911 went to 4XX, instead of using 40-XXX. BTW, I ALWAYS took a lot of pride in giving my number because I was DAMN proud of who I dispatched for. Just to drop a hint from my dispatching days, if anyone listened to Citywide, I used to say Citywiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide...4XX. OK Enough about me.

The only thing we have is an automatic aid plan for one location. The BRP north of 233 Street. We send an engine, truck, and chief north, YFD sends an engine, truck, and chief south. There is a plan in the works to have volunteers enter the city when we go below a certain percentage of units citywide. There are no other protocols for automatic aid.

Gee, I wonder....at least I didn't say, Dude, or, CALM YOURSELF, or, HAVE A NICE DAY JUNIOR!!!!

This is not a knock on Rye Brook or PC, but IMHO, that is why RBFD was created, so the people could set themselves apart from PC.

I hope you dont have that attitude when you come out here in September...LOL I'll have to leave you behind. September is prime brush season! I don't buff WC fires, typically LOL. I'll buff an LA City or LA County fire anyday! Those guys are awesome to watch and photograph, and easy to photograph too! Get Ready for the JBE Death March September 27th, buddy..

Anything north of 125 Street is 72/2. There are certain street boxes in the Bronx where 72/2 go on the initial alarm, due to water concerns/long stretches. I have also seen them sent to certain fires where we know they're going to be needed. They go up into Riverdale on the 10-75. It's anything north of 230 Street and West of Broadway. It's possible 72/2 didn't operate at the job on Tremont and went to the job in Harlem.

Can't think of how many times I've heard that one.

Aussie Rules football is cool to watch. Softball is going bye bye because those Eurocentric types are sick and tired of watching Team USA hand the @$$es of every other country to them.

I was well known for Very Well, and "Sounds like ya got some work, there" when I was a dispatcher. We are also required by protocols to give time and number upon completion of a transmission. This is going to sound messed up, but there are dispatchers out there who have fans on the other side of the radio. Not to toot my own horn here, but there was an evening when I was dispatching up in the Bronx, my brother had his partners father riding with them. They were listening to the Bronx and the father made some complimentary comments. "That Dispatcher 4XX is really a pleasure to listen to." Next thing you know, my nextel goes off and my brother tells me he is sitting next to one of my "fans". There are other dispatchers who get phone calls from members dropping compliments, etc. Take some pride in who you are folks. It only takes a second to rattle off who you are.

I'll probably be down Wednesday to Saturday night.

He pretty much nailed it. It can get into places where a regular rig can't. It's a 1986 GMC with a Ward 79 body. I believe there was rumor it was to be replaced with a Hummer.

They were referred to as The BEST. This was before the merger. I don't know what they are referred to now.

The pay may not be that great, but the OT and bennies definitely make up for it. It's a small price to pay.

I'll be there. Just have to figure out what days and a few other things.
