Enjoy it while you can, folks. Rumor has it that the Patrol is going bye bye.

I can understand documentaries, because I was in one. I can understand books about those we lost and those who lived. I'm not sure where I stand on this one. I want to believe there is a more noble cause behind it, like reminding those who weren't affected why we are involved in conflict. Or, showing there were other heroes aside from the 343,24,47. But, my cynical side knows the truth. But, people outside of the NYC/DC/PA area need to be reminded.

Hi there, I am the Blue Eyed Weirdo, AKA The Rock and Roll Supervisor, AKA Jimmy Blue Eyes. I am a supervising fire dispatcher with the FDNY (9 years in April). I am a former explorer/FF-EMT with Lake Carmel, FD. (1987-1998) I'm 32 and a sometimes FDNY and LA County buff. I do apparatus photography(although I'm still learning) and will help out with any FDNY questions when it comes to communications.

I have to agree with this. While a critique of an incident on the department/unit level is helpful, it eventually evolves into the bashfest. I can't think of how many times we think an incident is going just fine on our end, when some muckety muck picks apart everything we do/did. However, I do agree with the idea of posting lessons learned from the incident. Especially if it will avoid problems later on.

I remember driving from Lake Carmel to Sandy Hook, NJ during this mess. I left LCFD just as it was starting to flurry. By the time I hit the Tappan Zee a half hour later it was an absolute nightmare. I wiped out on the GSP just before the Raritan tolls and limped pretty much into Sandy Hook. Stopping nearly every twenty minutes to clear off my wipers. Ahhh fun times.

So does anyone come knocking on my door after he touches down at JFK??? Noooooooooooo. I'm feeling a little slighted.

If I remember correctly, it's being speced out.

OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhh a snow event!!! I wonder if I can get tickets??? (Thank you George Carlin)

Actually, it's the original HAZ MAT 1. It's a 1983 ALF Saulsbury. R-3 never had the ALF as its primary rig, it did have one as the Collapse Unit. The Stilotski is the old R-1 and is a 1985.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMN that thing is big. BTW the idea of putting a memorial to JimmyBoy on that rig is a great idea.

.94?? DAYUM!!!! Yeah that's def twice the lethal limit. I was about to say, there probably aren't too many of us who have never been twice the legal limit. Except for anyone under 21 that is.

If you're swallowing a cell phone because you're having a spat with your significant other, you're over reacting. But hey, at least she didn't shoot him, or slice off his junk as could be stereotypically expected in the sleepy hamlet of Blue Springs. Side note: I could think of quite a few jokes involving swallowing but alas, or alack, or total bummer, I can't say any of them here.

I think one lesson can be learned. Always wear your gear, including hood, gloves, and mask. That and when opening the door, BDFU!!!!

Why thank you very much. Are you sure that's not fountain of Useless knowledge??

They crapped, and they walked. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Doesn't matter who he hires as an attorney, the skell is an accesory to murder. He is going to do time. As for De Niro, not quite sure what to say about that.

I am going to take a stab at it and say 1982 ALF Rescue delivered to Rescue 2. If not that one, then the Mobile Medical Units. I do not count the ALF Pumpers with the white panels up top. And, Foam 262 is the oldest front line piece of apparatus in use. I remember when it was delivered, MP-7952, to Engine 308 in Queens.

This past week has been rough on the FDNY. From Sunday December 4th to Sunday December 11th, there were close to FIFTEEN Fire related fatalities and numerous injuries. The other two children are both still hospitalized, one in stable and the other in critical condition with burn injuries. Donations are being accepted. While money and materials are accepted and appreciated, what the family needs most is clothing. Interesting. Unless they are planning on getting rid of the ones that were delivered like two years ago, I can't understand why they would want three more.
