  1. I can confirm the 30 Truck St John the Divine ladder pipe operation.(I was dispatching M that day) Just recently some ladder pipes got put to work at that junkyard on Westchester Avenue a few weeks back.
  2. AMEN!!! Learn from others mistakes, and for the love of all that's holy, don't do anything stupid that will make you end up in the papers.
  3. Patterson FD had a house off of 311, I want to say Front Street. It's now a garage.
  4. I have to say I am really looking forward to not only seeing this rig out on the street, but taking a ride in it. Maybe we'll see if this is the start of Pierce getting a foot in the door here.
  5. Lake Carmels' old Firehouse Route 52 and Barrett Hill Road. PCFD Putnam and Mellor were shut down in the early/mid 90's. I want to say 95 or 96.
  6. worked fine for me.
  7. Very impressive. What's in the box/ladderboard??
  8. they do not have pre-piped waterways. However, ladder pipes can be set up and a master stream can be put to work. I have only seen it done a couple of times.
  9. Why not just update the Dash, Lance, Arrow and Enforcer to make them compliant with the EPA regs?? If they are such popular chassis, wouldn't it behoove Pierce to remodel them to keep the customer happy if the customer doesn't like the newer chassis??
  10. It is pretty sad that GP couldn't do the right thing by everyone else. I guess I'm lucky in the sense that I already have a 25 year retirement plan set up.
  11. When I meant beat the sh!t out of the kid, I guess I misconstrued what I meant. I meant a SEVERE spanking. My mom was 5'4 and she also used any weapon in sight. Her tools of the trade included spoons, wooden and plastic, coat hangers, and the dreaded wiffle ball bat.
  12. I guess stopping the car and beating the sh!t out of this kid was out of the question. What ever happened to parents who ruled the roost with an iron fist?? I'm your mother/father, not your friend. You acted up, you got spanked. Granted get the kid some help, but to have him locked up?? That shows me the parents have zero control and should be slapped upside the head as well.
  13. Kinda messed up that Dog got locked up for the same thing he picks people up for. If I remember correctly, he doesn't carry a firearm, he carries a big @$$ can of mace. I think for all the negatives, he's done a lot of good things with his fame and fortune. There's always going to be someone who gives a profession "a bad name". Hopefully he can get this worked out.
  14. Am I the only one who finds it strange that the first image you see in that video is a smashed up Mack???
  15. As much as I hope the families win this suit, and they get every penny they can get out of these companies, it won't bring them any more solace. It won't bring these two men back. The best thing that can come out of this is that there's improvements in the equipment that will keep this from ever happening again.
  16. I will not forget the faces and names of the friends I lost, the voices crying for help that never got to them. The sorrow and guilt I felt for a long time, like I didn't do enough. As I awake later on, I will say a silent prayer for those lost and those left behind, and just reflect.
  17. If I remember correctly from my days in Lake Carmel, you had to make a certain amount of points per year. It was a combination of drills, work nights, meetings and runs.
  18. What?? No Battalion 6?? No USAR 134??
  19. May the Force be with you!!
  20. I always like the blue tombstone one as well.
  21. Ok, so aside from the other toxic sh!t the guys could be breathing in, they get a full back of Marlboros on top of it.
  22. Good defensive attack by the CCFD. Although, outside or not, one guy on a line is no bueno.
  23. Pass on the TL-78, although the LA County Freightliner will be on the shelf.
  24. Believe it or not, The first two boxes for each tower took up one page of the CAD summary screen. Each Tower was a 5th Alarm assignment plus numerous special calls. Followed by some of the other boxes in the area, that was on the second page. Then beyond that were the boxes that were out in that particular boroughs. If you look at Box numbers in Manhattan and Da Bronx, with the exception of a few anomolies, they go higher as you go further north. However, with the other boroughs, Bronx included, you can listen to a Box number, and can tell what neighborhood it's in.
