Oh, wait, there's more coming... We took a little ride down Route 52, and stopped over at the Stepjam Works for some coffee and some good discussion. I took FFMartin over to Lake Carmel to show him where I used to hang my helmet, and then over to Carmel. Unfortunately we didn't get to shoot the new 12-2-2, but I will be back. PS nice work to the Kent PD and PCSO for nabbing those bad guys over by Shop Rite. We decided to head back over to Rombout to finish off and call it a night. Here's 62-11, nice little Sutphen in the traditional, and unique Rombout creme color. 62-12, a little bit older. 62-14, 1986 Pierce Arrow, from what I was told, they are looking to keep this as a parade rig. And finally, 62-45. The new TL. This rig is a little unique in the sense that it has that extra fly section, and that allows it to have the bucket level with the boom, as opposed to hanging in front of the tail end. A thank you to Springfield, NJ, Glenham, and Gobs of gratitude to the Rombout guys for the hospitality. Sorry this is a little later than I said fellas, I got a little tied up after I got home. Enjoy

Special Hazards Apparatus Next stop, Dutchess County. Yesterday I met up with FFMartin. It was a little later than I wanted, so I couldn't do a Death March. So we met up in Rombout, and headed off to our first stop, Glenham. Glenham 43-11 43-12 ALF Rescue Pumper 43-31. This thing is a BEAST!!! 3,000 Gallon Tanker with three dumps. One on each side, and one in the rear.

Just heard the hats were pulled from the shelves.

Can we at least install a spell check as well??

Here's the thing, as far as I know, they cannot do traffic stops. They don't write moving violations. They only write parking tickets. I'm not even sure they qualify as emergency vehicles. As far as busting out a window, I don't think it would be something they would do. Would cause too much trouble.

He's got a great point, but, there is a drawback to this situation. He may be going after the "Brownies" now, but it's only a matter of time before he may be filming a couple of regular cops, or a let's say double parked Engine or Ambulance. The traffic enforcement agents are an easy target, especially because if I remember right, they don't have arrest powers. Personal experience with the traffic agents. I'm out on Cross Bay Boulevard, strolling into the Radio Shack. The car is parked on a hydrant, and there she is, gabbing to the clerk about a new cell phone. Here's where my inner Jimmy Justice comes out. "Excuse me, but you're parked on the hydrant." She looks at me kinda funny. I politely say to her, "You'd write me or anyone else in this store for doing that, so why would you do it??" Her reply, "Why you giving me a hard time??" My reply, "Oh, I'm not, I'm just proving a point. Set the example, here. You'd write me if I was doing it, and you're gonna do it?? She left, moved her car, and I felt better. PS, a little warning about those videos, there is some salty language being used, so you may want to keep the kids away.

What exactly got cut out of the new firehouse??
-
sailed past it yesterday on my cousins jet ski. nice place.
-
But does it solve the problem of a poorly managed ER?? The community gets the short end of the deal.
-
How fast can you fill the tank?? How many residential areas in Westchester are without proper water supply?? How many areas in Westchester are that remote or brush laden that you would need a rig that large?? I think the cost of it would outweigh the need of it.

I'm with Duane on this one. I'm taking a wait and see approach on this change.

I guess just setting up an aerial stream or a TL was not an option here. Dumb move.
-
I was considering coming up to shoot it, along with Carmel's new engine. PM me plz. I'd like to shoot it today or tomorrow if possible.
-
How young are you talking about?? PM me and explain this situation. Because either I am getting old and not understanding, or you're too young and not making a coherent point.

Most explorer programs, or at least they were to a point when I was in, were hands on. Sounds like you should talk to your post advisor, who should talk to your chief to see if you guys can get more hands on.

Public safety loses out to the strength of the almighty dollar yet again. Where were the dissenting opinions of the Fire/EMS Coordinators?? How about the chiefs of various departments/VAC's?? 20 years backward?? That's putting it lightly.
-
Look into the explorer program. Check with the Boy Scouts of America. There's been a huge growth in explorer posts in the Westchester/Putnam area over tha past decade.

I have to agree with the hope Putnam upgrades as well. It's kind of disheartening when you're standing outside of Brewsters main house and you can't even hear the Sunday morning test on the scanner in the car.

Of course it's safe to use TAG or AXE, along with any other make you less smelly type of product. Just don't try using it with a blow torch in your hand. Most, if not all body sprays or spray cologne type products have flammable ingredients in them. Your biggest concern should be if you end up like one of the subjects in the false advertisements they regularly churn out. Girls chasing you down the street, etc. Or, if you don't use them and people are standing around your stanky self with respirators PS: I'm a regular user of AXE Voodoo, great stuff.

Would I be considered a geek or super buff if I said I can tell who's coming down the street just by listening to the siren?? Just figured I'd ask.

Wow, this is gonna be interesting. It's not something you see everyday, usually it is someone of the gay persuasion pushing a lawsuit. Maybe this will set a trend. The un-PC crowd will finally win one. Hats off to the FC for actually doing the right thing.

The Firehouse was E-280/L-132 on St. Johns Avenue in Brroklyn. I haven't seen the movie(probably a rental for me) But they use fictional numbers in most, if not all movies or TV shows.(Exception is Ladder 54 in the Fantastic Four, in the bridge scene) But, it wasn't a spare or reserve FDNY rig, just one painted to look like one. If you can tell me what you saw, I could probably tell you what was what.
-
Probably 12-2-2, or 12-2-3. Now I got another excuse to head up that way this week.
-
Take up, Chief. Your work here is done. God Bless and RIP.

I'm already sour on them. But I am hoping things may turn around with the new releases later on this year.
