Just to build on my past comment, the color could be better. I am also pretty sure, as has been stated by others, there had to be a department out there with an actual green rig that could have been made.

Wow.

Uniquely ICK!!!

Just an update, it was Foam and Engine 260 that responded, along with Sq-288 as a Squad, Sat-2 w/E-72.

We have run cards that are maybe 25 yrs old, but I'm not sure if they were thrown out in the renovations. I'm hoping we still have them in the event CAD and the back up crash on us.

I have to agree that there are some thin skinned individuals on this site. However, Seth and the other mods want to keep this place as civil as possible. Seth owns it, he runs it as he sees fit. Doesn't matter if we like it or not, we play the game, or take our ball and go home. The line does get drawn a little too close sometimes.

This is where you get people who know the units, and area, to help program the CAD to give the proper alarm assignments. This knowledge should also be taken into account when dealing with automaitc aid, or responses involving limited access highways. Take those old run cards and integrate them into the CAD. I really need to get some sleep. I looked at this and it took me a few minutes to figure this one out.

It can go both ways. Some people like the idea of getting Engine 85 or Ladder 18. Others like the idea of getting 62-45, or in Putnam's case, 16-4-2.

CAD is only as good as the people who programmed it, or the people who use it. Processing time are a big issue. I think if something spikes up in processing time, it has to be looked at on a case by case basis. It's also very refreshing to see someone on the other side of the radio saying what I've been advocating for years, GET INTO THAT OFFICE AND SEE WHAT WE DO AND WHY WE DO IT!!!!!! Read my making life easier threads to get into this further. Nothing bothers me more than people who rely strictly on CAD.

I was actually half concious one night, my mom called, and I answered the phone, Fire Department, 408, what's the address of the fire??
-
And I'm still waiting to get the tone frequencies so I can set my ringer up like that. PS could someone find the original "You know you're a buff when.." I put up a few years back?? I can't seem to find it.

Just to clarify, the only spot where there is an automatic aid agreement on the books is Bronx Box 8999. The Bronx River Pkwy between 233 and the city line. It's 63, 39 and the 15 going north, 313, 73, batt. 2(??) and R-1 coming south. If we get something on the Mosholu Extension(which goes into the Saw Mill),Deegan or anywhere near the city line, I'll give YFD the courtesy call if I am working. PS, awesome shots.

Good luck with it Chief, don't forget to invite me to the wetdown.

I remember when this happened, and was stunned this guy got acquitted on the attempted murder charges. Justice does get served.

Talk to your legislators. Lobby the heck out of them. Get this bill passed ASAP. We've had it for a number of years now, and I'm almost halfway there!!!

Will hit it on the head. We got put into two straight holding patterns and the pilot did not feel comfortable staying in the holding pattern with the amount of fuel he had on board. All that aside, and the mouth on the self absorbed princess with her poodle who cursed out the pilot when we landed, I'd still stick with Jet Blue. I just priced out flights for a possible LA Buff trip with an old truckie pal of mine. It actually costs more to go from Florida to LA, and 90% of the flights connect at JFK. So it's easier and probably cheaper for him to come up here and fly out with me from JFK.
-
I've only had one or two problems with Jet Blue, like the plane running out of fuel and having to make a pit stop in Stewart, but other than that, I recommend them for anything. I've flown them countless times between here and California/Vegas and never had a problem.

Sounds about right. I go traipsing through the county with my portable and I can't hear boo.

Why hasn't the guy driving the motorcycle been charged?? His actions led to the chase. Just another case of a cop being prosecuted for doing their job.
-
Oops...that's not good. But, at least they sent someone.
-
Said it before, I'll say it again. Doesn't matter what color, or how many bells and whistles you have on a rig. Someone will find a way to crash it, or into it.

Code Red was LAFD, not County. Rescue 77 was the fictional LA Fire Authority.
