This is what happens when city folk think that Route 9W is a happy lil ole country lane. Reminds me of how my mom used to march us from Shenorock up Route 118 to go to Baldwin Place when we were kids. It was insane 25 years ago, and it's even sillier to ponder today.

Pays better to start there than here. Top salary isn't as good as here.

It's a great idea until response times go up, and then the bean counters will be complaining about that. I know, I know, it's not about response time to fires, but someone will complain. Probably a member of the public who will scream to the nearest TV camera that the firemen took too long to get to her poor kid stuck in an elevator, blah blah blah. You guys get my point. Of course, you also have the people with the "Playbook" as we refer to it in the office. I'm locked out with a pot cooking on the stove, I got 5 kids(always a favorite of mine, like that's gonna make the guys get there faster), etc. Those who own the playbook also end up being the first ones in front of that TV camera. Call me jaded, but I don't see a win-win situation here. Accidents happen and unfortunately, people die. Respond safely.

This just goes to show free speech truly is dead.

Dumb kid, I didn't know anyone actually had the stones, or cheeks, as it were, to pull this off. I didn't even think kids pulled this sort of stunt anymore.

She's an accused criminal, she should be treated the same as every other criminal they lock up.

I'll see if I can get some shots of the buses at Jacobi on one of my days off this week.

For some reason I knew it was Lindenwood. They don't have the money to garage the buses, they probably don't have enough to fix the mess.

He seemed to have gotten angrier as he got older. I was more of a fan of his classic stuff up until the early 90's. As Dispatcher 220 pointed out to me this morning. I wonder if ol George got his 2 minute warning.

Well, it happened. Imagine my surprise this morning when I come to find out Willie Randolph got fired from his post as Mets Manager. Going with him were pitching coach Rick Peterson, and first base coach Tom Nieto. Jerry Manuel is the interim manager, and Ken Oberkfell(former Cardinal) is now the bench coach. Now for my dissertation/rant. Omar is NEXT. He made numerous questionable moves, (Delgado for Jacobs?? Getting rid of Brian Bannister?? Not putting Pelfrey in the bullpen or getting rid of Heilman??) Signs Luis Castillo(bad move) and numerous other maneuvers that make you scratch your head. Is Willie to blame?? Not completely. The underacheiving players, and there are a number of them, combined with a pi$$ poor bullpen are moreso to blame. One never likes to see a person lose their job, but I was glad to see Peterson get the boot.(Now no one is wearing my lucky number!!!!) Injuries didn't help, nor did the schedule. And last but not least, Fathers Day or not, you don't send the manager across the country, only to can him after beating the best team in the American League. That, IMO, is a real dirtbag move on the part of the Wilpons. So, now the question begs itself, what's next for Willie?? I honestly think the Yankees will offer him something, or maybe Joe Torre will reach out and see if he can get him a job in LA. I also think the Mets would do well to lure Piazza out of retirement and see if he wants a job in a coaching capacity, and I'm sure Lee Mazzilli, and possibly Keith Hernandez could get something as well. Funny enough, We were discussing this at work, they have two great prospective coaches in Ron Darling and Mex, but I would miss them both in the broadcast booth. Discuss...

Good for them.

They were filiming on 238th street and Review Pl. last week.

I always wondered why Willie never wore 30 after Floyd left.

And for those of you who may or may not have noticed, there is a Deputy Sheriffs car parked on the Saw Mill southbound just before Green Lane. Nice little speed trap decoy.

Balfour or Jostens coulda done it for $300.

Bummer, we missed out on the John Davidson gig. Was he big in Germany like the Hoff??

Trees down, wires down, trees on cars, manholes, two scaffoldings collapsed, window blown out of one building. Fallback step 3 for just under 2 hours. Queens had three fires. The Bronx got rocked, and rocked hard. We were filling out manual fire tickets for trees and wires for 2 hours and putting them in as soon as we got companies available. Only two relocations to act as second sections of L-32 and L-61. Good times.

AMEN!!!

He means the Kool Aid of propaganda and BS that gets spewed from 9 Metrotech. However, it sounds like an interesting idea, cooling the body to prevent the spread of further damage, I suppose??

AMEN!!! Welcome to the party, Jill. My father (RIP) was NYPD for 30 years, I dunno how he did it.
