  1. R-1, I apologize for opening the can of worms on the years, etc. L-5 appears to be either a 1979 or 80, based on the grey letters and tallboy grey numbers. What I wouldn't give to get my hands on one of those CF Macks. PS, 85 Engine became TL-53 when it was disbanded, and the rig went to E-263.
  2. Might be apples and oranges, 80/23's house was pretty much trashed from the pix I saw a few days after it happened.
  3. Make that 87, I joined as an Explorer in Nov. of 87 and it was already up at Station 2.
  4. It just might have been. Looks like it's been replaced though.
  5. I'm going to take a stab at it and say TL-44 was a 1978 or earlier, TL-41 is either a 1979 or 80, leaning more towards a 1980 by looking at the lights/lettering. Engine 43 behind Div 6 is a 1986, the last year they were delivered with the covered hose bed. BN-12's car is a 1990-92 era, if memory serves me right.
  6. Jeeze where do I start?? E-38 was a 1969 Mack R. I remember E-303 having one of those before it was replaced by a 1978 Mack, similar to E-68's rig. Ambulance 1 was quartered at E-59. Ladder 30 was a 1982 Mack with a 105 LTI stick. I also remember the ALF L-173 from my childhood years driving down Cross Bay Blvd heading to Rockaway Beach. I see Dadbo is checking out this thread, and he can shed more light on E-70's telesqurt, which continued life as 17-5-1.
  7. E-80 is still running out of E-69, TL-23 is still running out of E-37. Don't know how long before they are back home.
  8. In my experience, turning out units should be very simple. If you have designated alarm assignments/run cards announce them. Location, Cross Streets, room number/floor number Type of Emergency/Fire. Example 17-2-3, 17-4-4, 17-6-1 Respond, 231 Towners Road near Crestwood Road, Fire reported in a private house. 31-7-2, Medic 4 Respond, R and D Music, Route 52(or is it referred to as Smadbeck Avenue over that way??) and Fair Street patient with chest pains and difficulty breathing. Any additional information can be passed on while units are enroute, more calls, pertinent medical information such as a change in patients condition, etc. I agree with the sentiment that when you are banging out tones for a driver/EMT/crew members. Just who you're paging, what you require and location is enough.
  9. Get it in, get it out. Get to the point.
  10. Run for the Senate maybe?? Get a little more stick time in DC before the big run??
  11. I was walking up the avenue to the Chateau last night, when I hear some radio station playing, You Are Not Alone, and I thought to myself, It has begun!!! I am not mourning his death as much as I am mourning the loss of his talent. Kid toucher accusations and just generally strange stuff aside, you can't deny the talent he had. PS to Quote Jim Norton, saying he was allegedly a pedophile, is like saying Jupiter is allegedly a planet.
  12. Shame?? Come on, guy.. Any grief he received over the course of his career was brought on himself. You can't expect to live life like he did and not expect to have people criticize you. Don't get me wrong, he was immensely talented, and nobody can take that away from him. But, his alleged misconduct and general behavior opened him up to a lot of flack. I feel no shame whatsoever for cracking an inappropriate joke at the mans' expense. That being said, RIP Michael you were a tremendous talent and showman. You will be missed.
  13. It was originally red, it was refurbed in 1986 and painted lime green.
  14. Me too. Cold Springs' 13-5-1, if my memory serves me right is ex Carmel 12-5-1 and that's a mid mount.
  15. If there are, they are spares. Just in my neck of the woods, I have seen 46 Truck and 37 Truck both running spares.
  16. Look for the 1997 and 1998's to go first.
  17. And we're surprised by this because...???
  18. Now if they can only stop the UCT's.
  19. I've been doing a ton of running around the past few weeks, and I had left the camera in the locker at work. I grabbed it and discussed another out and about with Bronx Fire Radio. This time, to his neck of the woods in Yonkers. But first, I was up in Milford, PA last month with my special lady friend, looking for some green label JD when, oh, look what I found!!! Milford Engine 33-1 1995 Pierce Engine 33-2 2007 KME Rescue 33, 200? Spartan, soon to get the Chicago Treatment.. Finally Tanker 33. 2008 Sterling/4 Guys 2500 Gallons. My next visit up there, I will be hitting Westphall, PA. Safety(Road Stripe) Yellow rigs. But first some stuff a little closer to home.
  20. Wait a second, isn't commission of a murder in the commission of another felony Murder 1?? Or, was the law changed??
