Just asking how many Depts have a Computer/Laptop/Thinkpad mounted in the cabs of the apparatus?

I just want to say people make human mistakes.This guy was 100% completely wrong.He admits to the prank and will suffer the punishment. As far as being Volunteer or career ,I dont think anyone can say this is why. Bjg411 please know that about 18 years ago in a career dept here in westchester county ,with "on duty" members were bored and angry with one of the career officers and called in false alarms to the department were he lived from the payphone in the station that they worked and got caught!! Some of them lied and made things much worse.I do not want to Bash ,, but if anyone on the forum knows what I'm talking about they can confirm this.

I agree , this started when the NY Thruway Authority needed documentation and proof of what Equipt and Resoures entered the Thruway so the Depts could be paid back for speedy dry ect... Sometimes for DES it helps them with the incident report to contact a unit for an update.

FDNY members lead the Hudson Valley Parade in Lake George after 9/11 carring a huge American Flag.

I find it dangerous to see more and more News Television camera crews going inside structures during investigations and overhall.Just my opinion but ,,This unsafe practice is wrong in many ways.First, did the owner want his or her contents filmed and viewed on TV? If the fire is still under investigation should the area be entered by non firefighting people?Broken glass,wet ceilings,evidence, again just my opinion , but shame on the television NEWS crews/camera for even asking to go inside the damaged structure. Please note this discussion is not intended to bash any FD ,simply I feel it is wrong .

Today I was getting a slice of pizza at a local pizza shop and noticed a obvious overload of electric plugs in an outlet.The Business owner is probably unaware of the danger he or she is causing the customers.I pointed it out to the employee but he said, "nobody ever checks that"One (1)outlet (just the top plug) was feeding four (4)extention cords used to power two coolers for soda and two electric signs in the window. I was just wondering who Enforces the FIRE code violations in your community.The benefits of prevention will save lives!Most Building Depts. in Westchester are just overworked with NEW construction permits they neglect older downtown locations. I also have seen fire escapes in this comminity with BBQ's stored all winter on,Bicycles,plants,toys,mops,car batteries,coolers ect..The fact that occupants will later claim the egress was blocked or FF's couldn't reach them during an escape. Please post some good stories of FD members noticing some viol tions and having such corrected before the FIRE !

JBE I like the reason for your post. The caller needed HELP. She didnt just call the wrong Pizza shop,, she put the responsiblity in the person she told about the Emergency!!!The dispatcher now holds the key to making sure an ambulance get to the patient even if its in another community.Good Post.
