Yea I also know a guy from my fd who is retiring soon its a pretty good job and fdny ems doesn't really pay that well and who knows if I'll get the promo to firefighter. Thanks for the advice

Yea deff I got my EMT through my volunteer fire department and have been in fdny ems for 5 years and mahopac falls vol. Fd for 10

I would love to meet the fire chief and crews of this department how they can stand there knowing what they are doing is morally wrong is beyond me.... I mean hell couldnt they put the fire out then bill the home owner or insurance companies for back taxes or just services rendered?

I personally had 2nd degree sunburn, was wearing spf 45 sunblock but was in pool the entire day. Being in the pool the entire day was my downfall because i didnt realize i was getting burnt

We also had a basketball hoop in our parking lot of mfvfd station 1 but due to lack of respect from local kids we took a partner saw to it and cut it down

I have had great pleasure in knowing both Chief Lena for over 10 years and Capt. Bahr since middle school. I am in no way shape or form surprised with how modest they are, with that said these two guys are top notch firemen as well as the rest of the station 2 crew that was first due that day. Congrats brothers

when I took my EMT course 6 years ago the instructors basically taught us how to rely on the medics for everything. lucily for me I had senior EMTs in my department that hated medics so I was able to get a happy medium of when to and when not to use ALS

They are really hiring, even with the economy the way it is they have had at least 3 classes that I know of this year and the classes are 3 months long
