After all the info posted I still don't know what the "JETS" were doing over lower Westchester this morning!!!

At 10 am there were 2 different jets that came out of 2 different directions from the north. They were in no type of formation. Later they were seen flying all different patterns over L.I. sound. It did not appear to be any type of training. The jets that did the fly over at Shea were 4 of the same jets. I wish the training would take place over the ocean and not over residential areas. The sound was so loud I thought I would have to put on another pot of coffee.

I'm not sure if they were F-15,16 or17 or any other model number. Around 10 AM they flew over my house coming from the north going to L.I. sound then headed towards N.Y.C. I thought a jet was coming into my house for brunch. I was exit stage right.

Is there a fire expo in the New England area this week? I was returning from Boston around 6 PM today and saw about 15 new fire rigs and 10 ambulances traveling east on I-90. I was able to see Life Line Ambulance flat bedding a mint 60's/70's vintage caddie ambulance. White over red. Also, there was what looked like a 70's vintage yellow Maxim pumper.

And he knows when to hold them, when to fold them.

Why does it take over 10 years for Mayors to act on "consultants reports". Stamfords' report was from 1995 and Larchmonts' report was written in 1996. Nothing like using up-to-date information to make important decisions!!!! Do you think that the fire department and the community may have changed a little in over 10 years?

Be greatful that the dispatchers have a wealth of info to give the reponding units. Back in the late 70's and early 80's, the City of New Rochelle would dispatch the F.D. on INHALATOR CALLS. Thats how the engine company got the dispatch and more amazing, thats all the ambulance would be told. The dispatchers, who were civilians that were P.D. employees, did not think that any additional info was needed. When I worked the ambulance, I couldn't believe that someone would call to request help and C/O INHALATOR!!! Thank goodness that dispatchers are now part of patient care and no longer just switchboard operators.
