Im not sure if there is any truth to this, but i heard there is going to be an update to the law that came out, in the March/ April time period, to tighten up and clear up those shady areas, to detail what the systems need to have to comply with the law set forth by the govt?!? Is this true, or just hear say from others?!?!

In the Falls- our MPO stays with the engine and never leaves it while it is in pump... The lights are more for the IC of the scene so he can see what he has for water, and can plan an attack from there, whether he needs to call for more water or he is staisfied with what he has on the scene already...

Like everyone else has said, The Falls is here to give you a hand, if need be... Possibilty get a team together as well... Brian- Mahopac Falls VFD

Yes both rigs were at the show this year... Looked quite impressive and hopefully FDNY makes good use out of them, and the best of luck to the men and women who will be riding them...

My question is- Your allowed to become an EMT at the age of 16 in Conn and NJ like you saying. You and your family moves to NY. Is your certification still valid? or how does that work? Im guessing it isn't? Just a general question to throw out there...

Any word with Somers... I heard rumors that they would be having one for their 75th Anniversary?!?
-
A possible reason for a ton of apparatus is that depts coming in to so call" christan the new trucks"... all depends on how many departments received invitations- thats if they were sent out.. usually with the word out of a wet down, a dept may send a truck or two, and who knows how many departments come- like i said before, its a great bonding time for all departments... Multiple lines- usually there is abig water fight between the deptartments, at least thats how ive seen it done- where the host dept will go against the incoming units, and the main purpous is to drench the you know what out of each other... correct me if im wrong on any of the above info I stated...
-
I know in Putnam, our fd's dont have wet downs, for what reasons, Im not sure- possibly insurance and what not... But when I went up to my Uncles dept for their wet down, it was probally one of the greatest times I've ever had- great bonding w/ other firefighters and depts, alot of food, and one Huge Water Fight... I def agree with everyone above- that it is a great day and everyone has an awsome time.. I just wish depts down here would actually have them instead of "Drydowns"...

I believe Somers is having one for their 75th ann- but not 100% sure...

The Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Dept is trying to put together a Fire Department Softball Game for departments in the Putnam/ Northern Westchester area... As of now, there is no set date- but we want to try to get the games in during the July/ August time period (hopefully majority of the parades are over by then)... Our plan is to have it over a weekend during one of these months, starting early in the morning and going until we have a winner... If you think your department would be interested in putting a team together, please let me know... Hopefully we get a good turn out and have a good time...
