So what is everyones procedure then?
-
Our 10 codes are availbable to every member. it is there responsibilty to know them especially if they want to be MPO's. 60 control has standard 10 codes, again 60 control should just not recognize 10 codes besides the ones that they have set forth.

not for nothing but if you are going to put a devise on someone wouldn't it be in the crash cart where the defib is making it obsolete. .

Those are great

Our department changed this year to a physical that is done by I believe Empire Health group where they come to the firehouse and preform about 6 different test. Blood work, EKG, Urine sample, eye test, etc. I would have rather scene a stress test included but it is unrealistic for us to do with our limited budget. My opinoin is I would rather spend the $2000 per member to have the complete physical done than to have a LODD. Also after the last physical several members were taken off the active roster, and are now considered exterior firefighters.

This could be a tough one but could we compose a top ten worst fires of the last 20 years?
-
Does any other department allow POV's on a major artery of roadway such as the NYS thruway. Maybe ALS can help but is the department liable when personal vehicles respond to the scene. I know from being at scenes with POV on the thruway that is creates an even bigger mess.
-
Very sad to hear of so many LODD in such a short period of time. This is coming from a person with no EMS knowledge at all, what could happen at a strenuous emt class that could kill a 26 year old.
-
I also beleive Tarrytowen allows POV on the thruway

In your opinion what is the worst stretch of roadway in Westchester? Ie. 9A in Briarcliff where the Tanker accident was, The curve off of 684 to 287 just to name a few.
-
Congrats Seth. For thsoe that remember 2 years ago you did all the incident alerts. You've come along way from when i first met you about 10 years ago atleast.
-
Good luck trying to get that on the rig. By the way what is the deal with the tower ladder craze any reason why every department thinks they need one?
-
My opinion is Most Neglected Route 9A in Elmsford, from 119 to the training center. Most Dangerous The 684 to 287 merge is the most dangerous Biggest Improvement 87/287 corridor I also dont travel very far from southern Westchester.
-
Taxes are going to the 87/287 corridor and the rest of 287. I used to love the article in the journal news that listed the projects going on in the Westchester area, has anyone seen that in a while (or remember that). Not that I don't agree with you 635 but even though we pay alot of state taxes in westchester lets not forget that we are not the whole state. Westchester for the most part has been on a rolling construction plan (one ends the other begins). Lets change the nickname of the state from empire state to Construction state. Also is it me or does the Saw Mill in the Irvington to Hastings Area pond more with water now than it did before they repaved it? Another area of roadway that is not talked about is the death trap of the Saw Mill by the Cantina, Irvington is oout there at least once a week if not more.

X-635 I like the cold weather shelter sign it was a high of 62 and a low of 37. That is not even remotely cold. By the way Jen says that animal is a prarie dog. (Not sure ont eh spelling there)

So whats the CA photo hunt?

Well the jets squeaked into the playoffs

plectron we had the same discussion when we got ours. The reason it would go in a chiefs car is beyond me. Chiefs DO NOT respond to every call. Our department put it on the ladder, but what about all the calls the ladder does not go on (car accidents). TIC is a tool that can be used to look for victims at the scene of a car accident

Looks like a one room fire to me #-o #-o

Here in Park Ridge NJ there is a centralized dispatch for PD, FD, and VACs, there is about 5 towns involved in it and its sounds like it really works well. I hope the greenburgh towns can do this it would be great for all municiipalities.

Who is annoyed by the new News12 website requiring you to have an account number to access thier web site.

Nice post JBE landmarks are great for mututazl aid companies. How many times do you hear the chief say make a left onto such and such than a right onto such and such another left another right go down the road and you wil see the scene. Another good piece of advice is for going mutual aid is get a hagstrom map. You never know where you might end up going mutual aid.
