He is an idiot but what a great job by thier chief for his comments in the paper. He defended every ff in Rockland. "We have over 2,500 firefighters in the county and over 125 firefighters in Spring Valley," Maia said. "They give 200 percent day and night to protect life and property, and they're out there doing the right thing for the right reasons." =D> =D> =D>

whats nice, the pictures something bad had to happen to get those (New York-WABC, June 14, 2005) — Seven people on board a helicopter that crashed have lived to tell about it, though one person was seriously hurt. It had just lifted off from the Wall Street Heliport when the pilot lost control. The chopper plunged into the East River near Pier 11. One passenger is in a coma.

I must say that is why there is the incident workshop. For the most part Truck4 or any of the other guys do a great job of posting the incidents as they are happening for everyone else to read.

Not sure if it is allowed but Pville has a sign that says no more sirens after a certain point. I love that parade, even though we won nothing and it rained, but a lot of people show up and just when you think no one is left you turn the corner and it is a block party. Great job this year chief.

mstrang, could use that buzz cut you guys gave him a few years ago.

I must say I totaly disagree with everyone bashing redundancy. It is the only way for someone to confirm that you heard exactly what they said. I think saying Car 9999 10-17 to 123 main st is fine (he could leave out the automatic alarm) but he is telling the dispatchers that he heard exactly what they said, especially since 60 has alot of calls at the same time the 1 second to say the address is not a big deal. When I was an MPO i did it every time i responded. By the way didnt we have a thread on why dont first arriving units dont do a size up. That takes up more airtime, but is still benefiital. My biggest complaint about the radios is that people dont use their car or engine number correctly. Engine 995 is not 95 car 2991 is not 91.

I am not making any comment on if Joe is guilty or not, but JBE brings up a good point most llikely the public will never find out the final outcome of this and the TFD will just be black eyed by this for a while to come. It is the same as the SHFD that had an incident a year ago, I personally never heard a thing about it since except they supposedly put the gas down the drain. I do think Joes thing could have been dealt with in a differnt way as to not allow the press to run with this story.

I would have thought you repeat the nature and location for yourself incase you heard it wrong. Unlike the dispatchers at 3am we are waking up from sleeping and want to make sure we are going to the right place. Was that hillside pl ave st. Is the street cut in two by a highway and the number is extremely important. I like repeating the address and will continue to do it. The one thing i do that i am sure 60 hates is saying "AnyTown Engine XX is 10-17 NYS MM 5.5" But we rarely call 60 so i want to make sure they know we exist, even though they just made the call to our PD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - An 86-year-old woman was jailed after police said she called 911 dispatchers 20 times in a little more than a half-hour — all to complain that a pizza parlor wouldn't deliver. Dorothy Densmore was charged with misusing the 911 system, a jail spokeswoman said. She told dispatchers Sunday that a local pizza shop refused to deliver a pie to her south Charlotte apartment, said Officer Mandy Giannini. She also complained that someone at the shop called her a "crazy old coot," Giannini said. Densmore wanted them arrested. Instead, police came to arrest her, and she resisted, Giannini said. It's unusual for someone to face charges for nonemergency calls, Giannini said. But on Sunday, Densmore kept calling 911, even after she was told to stop, Giannini said. When an officer arrived at her apartment, the 5-foot-tall, 98-pound woman attacked him, Giannini said. Densmore scratched him, kicked and bit his hand, she said. Densmore also is charged with resisting a public officer and two counts of misusing the 911 system, jail records show.

Will the Yankees win tonight and stay out of last place? Losing 3 of 4 to the Drays would be bad but being in last place would be worse.
-
the small CO detectors are fairly cheap that you could have them in all 3 chiefs cars and the first responding unit

Ardsley L-50 is prepiped

the simplest way would be for everyone just to follow the rules 60 control tells you to

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Seattle police launched an investigation on Friday to determine how a patient undergoing emergency heart surgery caught on fire at a local hospital in 2003. The male patient, who was not identified, went up in flames after alcohol poured on his skin was ignited by a surgical instrument. The patient died after the surgery but that was due to heart failure and not the fire, said Dr. Robert Caplan, medical quality director of Virginia Mason. Caplan said fires are known to occur in operating rooms although they were extremely rare. The two-year-old incident became publicly known after an anonymous letter sent to the media mentioned it as a sign of unsafe health care at the hospital, and said the patient burned to death. Caplan strongly disputed its contents. "That letter is factually incorrect," he said.
