Jeremy you can go down the road in Park Ridge a bit to the other 4 gas stations and they are cheaper by about 8 to 10 cents a gallon. I personally pay more for the Mobil.

ALS are most of the members taking FF1 knowledgable at all when they take your class? Also if most of your students catch on quickly to what you are teaching does the state allow for you to go off in other areas?

I think the reason most departments wont do automatic mutual aid is cause they are afraid to have another department show them up and get there first.

Back on ice: NHL and the union reach a deal in principle to end lockout By IRA PODELL, AP Sports Writer July 13, 2005 NEW YORK (AP) -- The NHL and the players' association reached an agreement in principle Wednesday on a new labor deal, ending a lockout that wiped out last season. The sides met for 24 hours starting Tuesday afternoon to hammer out the collective bargaining agreement that will return the NHL to the ice. In February, commissioner Gary Bettman canceled the season, making the NHL the first North American sports league to lose a year because of a labor dispute. Both sides still need to ratify the deal, which is expected to contain a salary cap. That process is expected to be completed next week, the league and the union said in a joint news release. ADVERTISEMENT It took all night and then some for the final round of negotiations to produce an agreement. The sides met for 10 straight days in New York, and it became clear Wednesday morning -- the 301st day of the lockout -- that they weren't going to leave the room without an agreement in hand. The expected salary cap will likely have a ceiling approaching $40 million and a minimum somewhere between $20 million and $25 million. Player salaries will not exceed 54 percent of league-wide revenues. Some players in recent days have voiced their displeasure over what will be included in the new agreement. Bettman warned in February when he canceled the season that the offers the union passed up were better than any it would see once a year of hockey was lost. Just days before the season was wiped out, the players' association said for the first time it would accept a salary cap if the league dropped its desire to link player costs to revenues. Bettman promised ``cost certainty'' in the form of a hard salary cap to the owners and he has gotten it. The landscape of the NHL will be quite different than it was back in June 2004 when the Tampa Bay Lightning skated off with the Stanley Cup in the league's last game before the lockout. Now when the league relaunches in the fall, it will do so with a brand new salary structure that keeps high-spending teams such as Toronto, Philadelphia and the New York Rangers in line. The first order of business after the deal is ratified will be to get a majority of the players signed. The belief is that last season's contracts will be wiped from the books, leaving many players without deals. Those who are still under contract will have their salaries reduced by 24 percent, a concept first proposed by the union last December. There will also be several rules changes that could run the gamut from the size of goaltender equipment to the installation of a shootout to eliminate tie games. A draft will also have to be held soon, replacing the June event that was the last casualty of the lockout. Canadian phenom Sidney Crosby is the consensus choice to be the No. 1 pick. Where he goes will be determined by a draft lottery that will give each team an opportunity to snag him.

Speaking of wrong address who would be responsible if a unit went to the wrong address? I know for a fact in the public perception it is not the dipatcher. So until I hear a court case were a dispatcher is found liable for a unit going to the wrong location I am repeating the addresses.

It just came to mind after reading the L-120 article that in my opinion the FDNY does a horrible job of defending their members. There seems to never be a press conference that comes and says articles were written about XXX but we have all the evidence to prove that wrong. Never do you see the awards ceremonies for these guys on the 5 o'clock news. What do you all think?

We have two of the combination nozzles and i cant stand them they turn on two different ways. Plus the desired nozzle pressure is different for the smoth bore and the fog nozzle. My opinion is decide if you are going to use fog nozzles or smooth bores and just stick with it and forget the combination.

I would bet the truck never rolled once completely but made a 3/4's roll. I saw a SUV roll once right in front of me and i could have swore that he rolled 9 times but the PO said there wasn't enough tire marks to substantiate that. From that i took it as rolling over is if you make one comlete turn meaning you would have to see the bottom of the rig 3 times for it to have rolled 3 times. Sounds like another case of distorted journalism. This case is an unfortunate accident and IF the AI comes back that they were only doing 55 and never rolled once the journalist should be held accountable for writing a false article.

What you are not coming back to ladder 50?

so who won what?

Not that i agree with it but i do that a union has to for its current members. That being said in 10 years the majority of the members might be ones that came in under this new pay schedule and would most likely vote out thier PBA president unless they are in binding arbitration which i dont think they are.

ill take some pictures tonight for you, but if anyone has been inside our firehouse the reasons are obvious why we need a new firehouse. I believe we should be going out to bid in September, if all goes as plan.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - The co-author of a book on a deadly 1958 church-school fire was in jail on Tuesday, charged with setting a fire at another school, authorities said. ADVERTISEMENT David Cowan, who helped write an account of the blaze at Chicago's Our Lady of the Angels School that killed 95 pupils and nuns, was arrested on Thursday and charged with arson after a fire broke out in a storage building at St. Benedict's where he worked as a janitor. "To Sleep With the Angels: The Story of a Fire" detailed the horrific fire and subsequent changes to national fire safety rules. Cowan also wrote "Great Chicago Fires: Historic Blazes That Shaped a City." Cowan, 41, had been a firefighter at the suburban Bellwood, Illinois, department, but lost the job in 2003.
