Today is February second. Happy Ground Hog Day !!! Will Phil see his shadow? numerous clouds covering western Pennsylvania may prevent Phil from seeing his shadow. For those wishing winter will come to an end, this would be a welcome prediction! (AP Photo/ Keith Srakocic) Ben Hughes, one of the handlers of the weather predicting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, holds Phil in the air after removing him form his stage stump on Ground Hog's Day in Punxsutawney, Pa. The Groundhog Club said Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter.

Well Done! Your Site is a great fit. ... and I got a kick from the quote in the TimesUnion article: "There's a fine line between hobby and mental illness," I resemble that remark! (a lot of us here, do!)

http://www.westchestergov.com/emergserv/DEStrain/default.htm There are openings for several classes coming up. These fill up fast, so act quickly! You must have your Chief or Training officer with a valid password enroll you in any of these classes.

I'm not familiar with the Win97 software, but did you Un-check CC Only (Control Channel Only) when downloading from RR, and make separate banks for north and south? I see now, your model supports CCO, so that should not be an issue...

Once you guys set a date, make sure to post a new topic with the date, in the Events Calendar! http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showforum=6

No, There is no age cap. Alpha membership happens automatically regardless of age. In rare cases Alpha membership status can be granted, at the discretion of the EMTBravo Network Administration, (Seth) Hope this helps. You can call me Jack

moved from Fire and EMS Photography This can stir a good discussion! (Almost) Everyone loves red fire apparatus, however RED is among the less visible of vehicle colors. The color and markings of emergency vehicles are very important for motorist visibility. Warning Lights are only a part of the scheme. Studies have revealed collision rates of departments with lime-yellow vehicles experienced less than half the number of collisions than departments with traditional red vehicles. Highway studies also indicate cream, yellow and white objects are the most visible. There seem to be no statewide or federal standards or requirements for emergency vehicle markings. Should there be?

Mike, You don't get a second chance to make a first impression. Don't dress like you're going out to shoot hoops, or wear sweats, or crappy jeans and dirty smelly sneakers. Don't wear a bunch of bling-bling. The look you want is "casual" even sort of college-preppy. Khaki, gabardine or cotton pants, or neatly pressed clean jeans (docker's). Cotton long-sleeved button-down shirts, pressed, or polo shirts or knit shirts with a collar or a Sweater Leather shoes (or loafers) and belt. Remember that appearances do matter. And try not to be too nervous, relax, be yourself. And have fun!

Hey, I found the EMTBravo Network Italian International Site! EMTBravissimo!

There in fact may be no one talking. Someone could be just keying-up. Try changing the Modulation to NFM from Auto, on the Zone General tab. Or, one of your Zone base frequency or step settings is wrong. Let's try this: Copy the ARC profile and put it in an email and send it to me, I'll take a look at it. from the file menu: File/Save Profile As/ (give it any name)/ save it to your desktop. send it as an attachment.

Download the ARC software for your model scanner from BuTel and run it from your desktop. You can create and upload only a fixed number of "systems" (for a trial period) after which you will have to purchase it. The Butel software programs for the BCT396T and BCT996D are similar to the BCT15 in setting up and loading the information into the respective scanners. Note: A RadioReference premium subscription is not required if you choose to manually create systems using the ARC software. Part of the following is based on having a paid Premium subscription, which permits you to easily import system parameters from RadioReference.com, directly into the ARC software. I recommend a subscription to simplify life. Start the ARC15 Program, and Click Internet/RadioReference/Trunk Systems: Step 1- Create the system using RR WebService Download (RadioReference Premium subscription required) Step2- this is what downloads after you click "create System" and expand the system browser (left window) Step3- Click North Zone and change the Site System type to Motorola type 2 UHF Step4- now you have a bandplan tab! Step5- click the bandplan tab and enter Base Config-1: as shown Step6- Click south Zone and change the Site System type to Motorola type 2 UHF Step7- Enter Base Config 1 and 2, as shown Step8- You're ready to send the system you created to your scanner Step9- check "send selected systems," then click the green tab to complete.

I heard it's because responding members with low band pagers can't hear if the apparatus is getting out, or not, when they transmit on the trunked system. I also heard they have (or are getting) UHF pagers that will be able to receive trunk 17 on a separate channel.
-
No problem. The screen shots taken above are from the Basic version. I imagine "lite" is pretty much the same as basic, except lacking the ability to have a virtual scanner actively display on your desktop.
-
The scanner doesn't come with anything. You can download ARC software from BuTel and run it from your desktop. You can create and upload a fixed number of "systems" (for a trial period) then you have to buy it. I will attest to the fact it's more than worth it to buy.

Here goes ...Follow the steps and you should be fine: Step 1- Create the system using RR webconnect (RR subscription required) Step2- this is what downloads after you click "create System" and expand the system browser (left window) Step3- Click North Zone and change the Site System type to Motorola type 2 UHF Step4- now you have a bandplan tab!

Regarding the effort to get the South zone working, I was more concerned about my going around the lower county with a portable scanner. Plus, I hope this helps people "down-south" to get their trunking scanners to work properly. I get the North zone at home like they're sitting in the room, and yeah, there are plenty of lo-band repeaters. My scanner only polls the North zone while at home, even though both are active, but on separate banks. I have it set for control channel only, so I'm guessing it "reads" the strongest signal. When I went out before, the scanner only displayed South, when I got down to around Valhalla.

Hi Doc, I've been working on this for a little while now, and today confirmed the South Zone trunk settings that do work. A "regular scanner" is okay for when the trunked system is not that busy, and so far, it really isn't. I bet the bee line busses use it more than Fire and EMS combined! Anyway, here is what I've come up with that I know works: North Zone: System Type: Motorola Type 2 UHF Base Config-1= 470.0000 MHz, Step = 12.5 kHz, Offset Channel = 380 Freq's: 470.3250 470.3500 470.3750 470.5250 470.5500 470.5750**(Control Channel) South Zone: System Type: Motorola Type 2 UHF Base Config-1 = 469.5250 MHz, Step = 12.5 kHz, Offset Channel = 380 Base Config-2 = 475.7500 MHz, Step = 12.5 kHz, Offset Channel = 500 Freq's: 470.0750 470.1000 470.2000 476.0750 476.1125 476.2125 476.2375**(Control Channel)
